We spent one night at the Hotel Cavour before catching a cruise boat for 12 days. As we were already horribly over budget from the day we began planning, I was looking for anything that didn't appear to have rodents, was within a few blocks of major sites or the metro, and under $150/night. That's actually pretty hard in Rome,... More

Was on a very tight budget, and this place fit it. It was secure and safe. Service was awesome- housekeeping and reception were really great. The rooms weren't anything flash, but they were clean. Internet was reliable. And the location was awesome. 5 minutes from Termini, and right on Via Cavour. Awesome.

The location of this hotel was absolutely fantastic and staff was very helpful but it was a bit of a dump. We had a double room but it was dirty, tired and very very basic. The shared bathroom was a joke. The shower was so close to the toilet that you could not sit on it properly. The shower was... More

We spent two days in Rome prior to going on a cruise with our 4 children and mother. We were booked at another hotel close by, but when we arrived (after arriving in Rome at 8AM and going on an all-day tour--i.e. exhausted), we were informed that we had been bumped from our rooms due to some guests who decided... we had such a wondeful holiday in rome and the hotel cavour is a great base from which to explore the city. the rooms are clean and spacious and quite luxurious. breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace with incredible views . it was alittle difficult to find- our transfer left us at a local bus station and we had... Staff awere very helpful, the hotel is nothing special but does the job for a group of backpacking girls. The room was nice and clean and the location was perfect - just 3 minutes walk from the station and about 10 max to sites such as the coliseum. The trvisio fountain was a bit further - about 45 min walk... More

This hotel offered excellent service, with english speaking front desk personnel. Italy is a great vacation, with lots of history and sites to see. Very good value hotel. Would stay there again.

Wi-fi is free and reliable. Staff were very friendly. 11am checkout. Room is as nice or nicer than Hotel Julia, and pretty much the same thing but without the noise and 40e cheaper. Only stayed 1 night but should have stayed all 4! Probably depends on which room you get though, as I can see how some of them would... More

We did not enjoy our stay at Hotel Cavour and we found the area surrounding Termini station to be an undesirable and inconvenient place to stay in Rome. Even if you’re used to walking all the time, it is still a good 30+ minute walk to the nearest sites. A better area would be around the Spagna subway station. Aside... More

What do you want from a city-centre hotel in a major European capital? We look for a good location, clean room with good/clean bathroom, fair price and good staff/service. This hotel ticks all the boxes. Room - small but perfectly functional, spotlessly clean bed/linen/towels. Quiet too. Staff - helpful and charming. I would rate this hotel for the hospitality.
