The hotel was in a perfect location for seeing everything in Rome. We walked everywhere, which shows the hotel was in a great location. The front of the hotel doesn't do it any justice as you walk through some large doors and be greeted by a fountain. However once you climb to the 3rd floor the hotel improves its quality... More

Stayed for 10 nights with hubby, wanted a hotel near enough to all the attractions but in a quieter area. Hotel Galatea fit the bill completely. 25 mins walk to the monument and the colosseum and forum. Room cleaned every day. Towels changed daily. Breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit, pastries, bread etc tea and coffee. Reception staff brilliant ( try... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and generally enjoyed our stay. Rooms were comfortable, staff was friendly, most sites walkable. Breakfast consisted of cereal and some breads, certainly sufficient. Biggest complaint was the lack of wifi in the rooms - had to go out to lobby/breakfast room to have any access.

Superb location very close to all the attractions ,old building has alot of character but the lift was something out of the film saw and kept getting stuck, the reception was on the 3rd floor and the windows didn't shut and you wasn't allowed a bath due to their insurance and the electrical plugs didnt work properly and no cooked breakie... I was celebrating my 40th birthday with friends. Stayed for 3 nights. This was an excellent hotel & perfect location to the main attractions to be able to walk (if you wanted). Very very clean & lovely friendly reception staff. Would definately stay here again. Good value for money. Very good continental breakfast. The only downside was the lift from... More

Having read some of the reviews all I can say is some people are very hard to please! This little hotel was excellent value for money. I would agree however that anyone with mobility problems may find the climb to the first floor a bit difficult. Bearing in mind that this is a budget hotel in central Rome it was... More

We stayed here for three nights last week and really enjoyed the experience. Hotel was spotless, bedroom and bathroom. plenty of fresh towels (2 big bath, 2 medium 2 hand) lots of hot water. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was good, the room was a long narrow room and tables seated four. Hotel was on 3rd... More

Lets get the bad stuff out of the way. The lift is a serious obstacle to anyone with a lack of mobility or people travelling "heavy" (I wasn't - KLM lost my luggage!). It's an ancient lift and only starts from the first floor meaning that in a best case scenario you'll have to carry luggage up three flights of... More

The breakfast was poor, we fined only bad coffee from a machine and croissants. I booked a double bed and we had two single bed joined... People of the hotel are good and very helpfull. The situation is very good, near the bus !

Arriving at the Hotel Galatea we were impressed by the charm of the hotel which was exactly what we had hoped. The hotel is walking distance to what we thought were the major attractions such as the Colleseum, Foro Romana, the Palatine and the Trevi Fountains. Also within a short walking distance was the Circo Massimo. The staff were very... More
