Astoria is a good hotel in a convenient location. Breakfast is rich and the staff was always nice and helpful. I was there with a group of colleagues and we were offered a very good deal (70 euros for a single room). The building is very peculiar and it's got lots of personality; the elevator is a gem and the... More

Beautiful building with great period 'cage' lift. The location was ok - near a large station (Brignole) with many bus stops outside. Not the easiest walk to the central area, but ok. Lots of great shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Bedroom quite bare, but comfortable enough. The hotel was being fitted out with flat screen tvs during my stay. Lots... More

The building was built in 1860. It must have been a Grand Dame for her day. Beautiful fittings and the cutest elevator. Typical Italian, just the bare essentials. It is an old hotel and is kept in period so don't expect to many luxuries. The staff is very helpful. The hotel is located close a smaller railway station, but not... More

5 minutes walk from train (Stazione Brignole). Nice older building. Nice clean rooms. Breakfast buffet with relatively many choices. Very helpful and friendly staff (especially Cinzia who answered my never-ending questions, and Christian who helped me book my next hotel). My only gripe: They kept the a/c running for limited hours. Other hours, it was working as a fan-only. Should... More

Very old hotel. Temperature outside was chilling (-3 celsius). Inside the hotel was not warmer than the exterior temperature. My room had two AC units. The first night I has only one unit set up to max heat, and I could not sleep at all due to the cold. Second night I had both units set up to max heat,... More

Nice 4-5 star older Hotel with outstanding rooms renovated for a Boutique feel closr to the train station. For 130 Euro on last minute AARP/Expedia.com site got a very nice room no view to speak of and the best free breakfast buffet I had while in Italia. Staff was a bit indifferent and not terribly responsive but they were quite busy... More

This family run hotel is full of charm. The staff were lovely and could not do enough to help. The hotel has some beautiful original features, with high ceilings and an amazing lift. Our room had an art deco feel, was a good size and very clean. A good selection of food for breakfast. There is parking available outside the... More

We arrived without prior knowledge and the staff was so friendly and helpful that we were impressed. That was just the beginning; We received the key to our room (410) and when we opened the door we were sad to realize we would only be spending one night in it. Although simple, it was huge and comfortable, everything we needed... More

This hotel was really close to the train station, walking distance to the very cool historical part of the town and the fenicular, which gives a panoramic view of the city, and it is a short cab ride to the port harbor. It had a cool turn of the century elevator with iron grates that you could see through. The... More

We were allocated a huge double room on the second floor. Period fittings and padded brocade-like wall coverings. Great choice for breakfast - the best of our trip. Hotel on a busy junction with not much outlook but very convenient for Brignole station and site-seeing. Also adjacent to a small park.
