My wife and I booked this hotel as the first stop in our 2-week trip to Italy. We did not want to break the bank and this hotel was priced reasonably. That, along with the location, is about as good as it gets here. The room was ample and reasonably clean, but the bathroom has no discrete shower area, and... More

I stayed at the Hotel Trieste for two weeks back in January 2006. My stats: single female in her late 20s Purpose of travel: study-related Budget: tight Looking for: clean, safe & inexpensive accomodation close to city center - would serve mostly as a base to come "home" to after work I found the Hotel Trieste fulfilled all of the... Does not deserve 2-star rating. This was the WORST MOTEL we have ever been to. I would rather sleep on the street. Avoid this torture at all costs. Don't ruin your Milan experience. And don't come here if you plan on getting any sleep. We stayed here for 5 torturous nights. We are in our mid-twenties. We travel quite often,... More

We stayed at the Hotel Trieste for 2 nights in April 2006. The lobby looked reasonable and the receptionist spoke broken but understandable english. She immediately requested our passports, and like in previous reviews, she insisted that we go to our room while she held them. However, pre-paying for the room seemed to expedite the return of our passports. There... More

This place is a little dodgy. Staff keep passports however will never declare doing this they just say i will register it later....then later again etc, till you leave! They are unhelpful and seem to have an attitude of 'we can not be bothered'. I got this mainly by watching how they treated others. Breakfast was ok but there is... More

My first problem with this hotel is no elevator, I have to carry my luggage upstair after my 18 hours flight. The room and the bath is a bit dusty, bathroom also always wet. The second prolem was no electric plug in the room so I have to give my cell phone to receptionist for batery charging. However the staff... More

This was one of those last minute trips, but couldn’t find a hotel and have to settle for something completely unreal which resulted in disgust and trauma. The receptionist was completely incompetent and rude. Aside from the lousy service, the room was decent size however it was infested with mosquitoes. The bathroom didn’t drain so each time you shower there... More

OK, first the good points. It's (very) cheap, it's (mostly) clean and it's (fairly) central; the management staff are friendly and very helpful. That's about it really. But if that's all you're after, then read no farther, because the Hotel Trieste will suit you fine. However if you want something even a little bit homely, read on. The hotel entrance... More

Absolutely fantastic, went beyond the call of duty, did everything possible to ensure a nice stay, extremely helpful staff, great location, 5 mins from main train station, when in Milan & on a budget there simply is no other choice. I'll be back, Thanks everyone. Forza Hotel Trieste!

Very bad hotel: we received a price by phone, another one at the desk; no parking available, only to leave the car on the street; low bath conditions, with water all over the bathroom when shower; hotel without elevator, was terrible to go upstairs with the luggages...Never go again there...
