We lugged our cases the short distance from our water taxi wharf, to find just a street doorway and flight of stairs, that opened out once at the first floor. Having spent the previous 4 nights at the rather sterile Singapore and Dubai hotels, this was a step back in time, with an old fashioned room, with dark red carpet,... More

My 2 teenage children and I stayed at the Hotel Nazionale at the end of August. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We had a triple room and it was clean, quiet, spacious and safe. The hotel is well situated in a lively area with lots of shops and restaurants. It's easy to explore Vencie from here and you're... More

The Sta Lucia train station is a short distance away. There are many food shops when you go outside the hotel. There is no elevator going to the front desk so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs--they have an elevator from that level upwards. The toilet in our room was small, kind of modular. Taking a shower... More

OVERVIEW: Hotel Nazionale is an above average hotel. It is well situated in the center of all tourist attractions in Venice. The street immediate of the hotel offers plenty of restaurant and shopping opportunities right at your doorstep. The hotel is conveniently located a block away from the Venice-Mestre railway station. This hotel has a lot of potential in all... More

Hotel situted close to train station. Rooms ar small and dark. Beds are comfortable. Hotel is clean and staff are very plesant. Receptionists speak dirrerent languages (not only Italian and English). Breakfast is fine with lots of dishes. Good value for money - one of the cheapest hotels in Venice with private bathroom.

stayed here for a couple of days and while navigating through the stairways of the hotel was rather an effort. on the flip side, the benefit of it was that you got to stay in the backside of the hotel so it was quiet and your rest is undisturbed from street noise and the loud reveller in the middle of... Navigating the stairways, hallways and rooms of this hotel is like navigating a rabbit warren! The rooms are small and dark. I think the rooms were generally clean but that could be debatable. The staff was ok, Stefano in particular was very nice and gave some restaurant recommendations. The hotel is very outdated (wall-to-wall carpet and fabric covered walls in... More

Had to close bathroom door to see TV, bathroom door only opened halfway as it hit bed. The pics of bathrooms on this website were not any from our group! We had dingy shower curtains; bathrooms were as small or smaller than on a cruise ship. I had to walk a long way, up, down, around--about 25 stairs to my... More

The hotel was clean but decor very outdated. Breakfast basic but adequet. On arriving at this hotel we found the two ladies at reception were unfriendly, uninterested in their work, impatient and rude. This was not the case with the night receptionist who was friendly and smiling while he greeted us. They really could do better in welcoming their guests.... More
