I admit that I've nicked another reviewer's comment that it is an oasis, but that's a pretty good description, of how the B&B relates to its surroundings. Catania is pretty rough and ready, and there's a lot of traffic, so we did appreciate somewhere cool and peaceful to get back to. It's conveniently located, about say 7mins by bus to... More

My wife and I recently spent more than a week at Casa Barbero. Following a nightmare pair of flights on Alitalia, we came into Catania very late, close to midnight. Antonio, from Casa Barbero, had made arrangements to pick us up at the airport hours earlier, but good-naturedly waited outside the airport. He greeted us warmly, explained the city a... More

Lovely rooms facing on to a plant-filled courtyard, in an elegant house owned by Antonio's family for generations. Antonio could not have been more welcoming and helpful, also providing a transfer service to the airport at modest cost and great convenience. Good breakfasts and excellent coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. John and Diana Palmer, 18/5/2012

We stayed just one night at Casa Barbero, but would like to have stayed longer. Antonio was friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious.

Casa Barbero responded to all our expectations after reading the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. Arriving on a late flight from Rome, Antonio waited for us at the airport. This was very welcoming as I travelled alone with 3 kids. When we arrived at the B&B, Antonio left the paperwork for the next day and showed us immediately our lovely, spacious... More

More

We really enjoyed our one night stay here - good welcome, lovely comfortable room and excellent bathroom, great location for exploring Catania. Antonio took us to the airport for our return flight, which was very helpful. We will definitely come back.
