We stayed in Catania for three nights. I undertook a little research of Catania before booking the hotel for three nights. We were travelling around the island for one week and planned to use Catania as a base to visit Taormina and Siracusa. In hindsight it would have been better if we had stayed a night each in those towns... More

Arriving late in the evening into Catania airport at the end of a long day we just wanted to settle easily in to arriving Sicily and get our bearings. In that respect the Romano Palace is perfect within fifteen minutes of picking up our hire car at the airport we were turning into the hotel's gated grounds, and five minutes... More

We arrived 1pm as flight delayed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely and very clean. We enjoyed breakfast there was a good variety and we got our first glimpse of Etna very nice!!! The shuttle bus service was excellent. It was a very pleasant stay thanks.

We booked with other Friends from Lebanon For few days and we loved it! very professional staff, excellent restaurant and a nice buffet in the morning. Very confortables rooms, the location is not the best, but is very close to the airport.

Classic style upper end hotel. Beds are small and mattresses are hard and uncomfortable. Free wi-fi. Friendly Staff. Near the airport. Nothing outside the hotels excepts roads.

PLUS POINTS Hotel was near to the airport and was quite luxurious. Staff at reception ( Emmanuella,Valentina,Jasmine and Alfredo) were excellent - doing their very best to make our visit a success. ( We were visiting war graves and areas for my 90 year old brother-in-law to see where he had been fighting in Eastern Sicily in WW11). The breakfast... More

From their website the hotel looks great but once you are there the location, smell and tired furnishings are all disappointing. This may have been 5* in the 70's but no longer. Think 3* and you should be about right in terms of expectation.

I stayed here for a local wedding. Oct 2011. 3 nights. First night room 229. Balcony had a wall recently erected in front of it so you were imprisoned. Was able to move the next day. Room good size and clean. Bathroom same. Pool freezing. No pool bar or refreshments, not enough loungers, no staff. Bar pleasant with nice canapés... More

Dear Guest, many thanks indeed for the comment you sent us through Tripadvisor. I do really apologizes for the troubles you refer to suffer, during your stay. Unfortunately I cannot enclose to this answer some photos of the so-called “prison”, that is in the facts a balcony of mts. 5 x 3, with a wall on the right side (as... More

My partner and I travelled Sicily this month and spent 3 nights at the Romano palace. The hotel is beautiful. The pool is wonderfully cool and comfortable and The food is amazing. The buffet breakfast was also delicious with all the pastries baked fresh and they even cooked my eggs to order. We had a deluxe room which was nice... More

To say that Catania is not regarded as the most beautiful city in Sicily is doing it no injustice but thanks to this hotel it is definitely worth staying your first and last night here if you are flying into Catania airport. Having gone on a cheap holiday - splitting costs of a small villa between five of us -... More
