We chose to stay in this hotel because of its great location (excellent base for exploring Ortigia) and the lovely pictures on its website. First impressions did not disappoint - the building is absolutely lovely and has a lot of authentic charm and character. I love how the communal areas feature a very eclectic mix of art/antiques and modern furniture.... More

The hotel building is beautiful and in an excellent location, but that's about all the good points. The communal areas have an array of furniture completely mismatched, included an horrendous "hairy" grey rug, which looks very dirty. There are some interesting pieces of furniture on the bedroom floors, particularly cabinets holding ancient crockery, but at reception level it was a... More

Had a great stay in this hotel. The staff, location and building were all fantastic and I would highly recommend staying here. We had a quiet, spacious and well decorated room and the location next to the harbour could not be better. The staff were very helpful (even helping me park my car in the world's smallest space) and the... More

This hotel is located in a magnificent historic building in a convenient location. It is built around a courtyard that was probably originally open and now is covered with a skylight. We had been to Ortigia 2 yr previously and stayed at a hotel on the water in the south peninsula. We preferred the location of hotel Giaraca because of... More

Tricky to rate this hotel, actually. We stayed for a week in a superior room which we paid quite a bit extra for because we wanted a sea view. The hotel is really well placed for access to Ortigia, and very close to the water, but the view of the sea from the balconies is pretty much obscured by a... More

Stayed at this lovely hotel, located in the heart of Ortigia. This historical building makes you feel like you were living in the renaissance period. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious, breakfast was also good, typical Sicilian blended with a American Breakfast, all the food was fresh and tastey. Coffee was probably the best I had in Siracusa. The staff... More

The Giaraca palazzo is beautifully located, we picked a room with a view over the Siracusa bay with a balcony. The lady handing us the key was unfriendly, untidy and unfit for such a beautiful location. The room in itself was spacious, the bed looked ok. Already the firdt night we found out that the bed was almost as old... More

With the new management also the matresses have been changed and, if necessary, the beds. Breakfast is not always included, depends on the type of booking More

Friendly , home like atmosphere in the beautiful palace. We had a great time and Maria Louisa was very helpful with everything. Location is great, near all the main attractions in Siracusa. Would love to come back there again!
