It's an alright hotel if looking for faded elegance and the service is quite helpful, but I feel it falls short on aspects such as: - breakfast...cheapest possible ham and cheese, cereal and hard-boiled eggs pretty much sums it up; they do also provide good croissants/pastries, but it doesn't feel like a proper meal - luggage storage - there is... This hotel is in such a beautiful spot, in the historic district and along the “lungomare” with beautiful views of the Mediterranean from most windows. A short walk from the cathedral and restaurant options. But other than that…. Pros: * The location is great, as I mentioned. * They offer a good, abundant continental breakfast in the morning. Cons: *... More

The hotel's best pros is the location, near the city center. There's also a place to go sunbathe & swim close by! The rooms are beautiful and have a real old italian appeal...

When looking for a hotel in an old city such as Siracusa I always look for one near most of the historical and touristic sites. The Hotel Aurora is in a perfect location. It is equal-distant from the tip of the island where the old fortress stands and the temple of Apollo by the bridges. It is at the end... More

After two weeks in the Royal Caribbean Cruise, we were a group of fourteen who flew from Venice to Sicily and stayed in this hotel that seemed like a Grand residence from before. Coming from the Philippines, this would be considered a heritage property. I am surprised why some reviews are so negative.I've stayed in 5 star hotels like Four... More

We were dumped in the Aurora by another hotel where we had booked but they had no room! It is clear talking to other inmates that the Aurora is the collective dumping ground for any hotel that overbooks. The place is a crumbling mansion on the seafront and it has to be said that the view of the sea from... More

We booked the hotel as B&B Airone and had trouble finding it because the signage was Hotel Aurora Hotel. They are one and the same. The hotel is what appears to be a former grand residence. In fact, some of the rooms are very ornate because they used to be a living room or salon. So, it has a lot... More

The good points... lovely view from the balcony, clean bathroom and good location. Unfortunately our stay at this hotel was unpleasant from the beginning. We had just finished a very long drive to get there and were both tired. Firstly, although their website states there is 'plenty' of free parking right outside the hotel this is not true. There is... I chose this Hotel for it's location and wasn't disappointed. The Hotel itself though is a bit tired looking and goes to show how the star system really doesn't make any sence in Sicily/Italy - this really should be a 2* not a three (we had just left a 3* Hotel that should have been a 4 and a half!)... beautiful view if you get the room with the sea view, do not get the parzial view, you won't be able to see the water! the hotel it's old, some of the rooms, the one on the upper floor, are newer, but all the bathrooms don't work too well,it's either the shower or the toilet, or the sink, so be...
