Loved this sleek, quiet hotel. The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. There was room in our closet for both our suitcases, so they didn't have to clutter the room. We had a little walkout balcony with views of the sea and the entire atmosphere was peaceful and serene. Best of all it was walking distance to the town with... More

We spent a week here in early June 2013. Unlike most hotels in Taormina, this has a modern and 'boutique' feel but the outstanding staff without exception make the place most welcoming. Special mentions to Svetlana and Carmelo on the front desk. Each time we followed their restaurant recommendations they were spot on (and when we didn't we ended up... More

We spent 7 nights in a deluxe sea view room with our 18 month old son and could not fault the hotel amenities, great location into town, beautiful pool and sea views and comfortable surroundings. What really made our stay here so memorable were the welcoming and friendly staff who are extremely professional and go out of their way to... More

This hotel was an excellent choice for a week in Taormina. Lovely central location, gorgeous pool and roof bar. All the staff were friendly and professional. Rooms a little small but well appointed and those at the front have lovely views across the bay.

This is a really excellent hotel for those who want five star amenities at their hotel and easy access to the town of Taormina. Wonderful swimming pool on the first floor and great rooftop bar. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Excellent food and rooms.- More drawer space required. Breakfasts much better than you normally get. Highly recommended

Stayed for 5 nights at this lovely hotel. Smallish room but with luxury bathroom with bath/shower and 2 basins. All very clean and quiet. Delicious breakfasts with lots of choice. The staff are very attentive but not at all stuffy. Very friendly in fact. The hotel is fairly well situated within 5minutes walk if the main shopping street and many... More

Stayed for a week at fully booked hotel with my husband. It was our first time at Sicily and I'm glad that we had no negative impressions at all. Located just a short walk away from the Main Street, from Greek theatre and from the cableway. Reception was very warm, very good breakfast, rooms have everything you need (maybe it... More

When I booked this, my single fear was that it might be a bit too pretentious and clinical - with staff to match. On the contrary, the staff were absolutely brilliant - and in the nicest, easiest way. They really made a difference to our enjoyment. The room was lovely - and amazing bathroom. The view is lovely, though probably... More

This hotel is spectacular - tucked in the windy roads of Taormina, we didn't realise quite how close we were to the main town but it's only a 2 minute walk. The streets are buzzing until the early hours, with gelato at every corner - yummy! My wonderful fiance proposed to me on our holiday here, the staff were very... More

Beautiful hotel with amazing rooms. The staff were incredibly helpful. The pool on the roof terrace has amazing views. The spa treatments were very good. I can't think of a single thing that I would have changed here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Myths of classic Greece, the Sicilian sea, Saracen and Norman echoes reflecting on the snowy slopes of Mount Etna. Day after day, the silence, colours, light and the aromas of Taormina relate infinite pages of stories, legends and traditions. An exploration of trees and sunsets, starry nights, timeless moments in the exclusive setting of the Hotel Imperiale. Stroll up to Hotel Imperiale through the streets of the historic centre of Taormina; through the scent of wisteria and the colour of bougainvillea. The position of the building, standing above the roofs of the town, provides an exceptional panorama, with the Greek Theatre in the foreground and the sea, from Capo S. Alessio to the Bay of Naxos in the near distance. A short walk away you will find Corso Umberto, Taormina’s exclusive promenade, which has seen a host of celebrities make this small part of Paradise famous throughout the world: Maupassant, Goethe, Oscar Wilde, Vittorio De Sica, Sophia Loren, Gregory Peck, Greta Garbo, Cary Grant, Rita Hayworth and Liz Taylor. The magic of Taormina has beguiled many film directors over the years into setting their films here. Still today the world of cinema keeps its appointment every year for the Taormina Film Festival. Located in the heart of Taormina's historic centre, close to Corso Umberto I and the Palacongressi (home of the International film Festival), the historic Hotel Imperiale was built at the beginning of the 20th century and reopened in 2009 after restructuring works. The design and the restructuring has been carried out in full observance of the styles and local materials, such as the widely used volcanic stone, and has been adapted to modern requirements, in line with the philosophy of all hotels of the Exclusive Hotel Collection. The 63 rooms and suites enjoy Brazilian rosewood furniture, in colours reminiscent of the warmth of Sicily, its mosaics, ceramics and volcanic stone. The exclusive Pool and Terrace Suites boast a solarium or private terrace with a private outdoor spa bath and steam room. A panoramic outdoor pool and a Roof Garden treat guests to stunning views. This luxury 5 star hotel offers an exclusive 260 m² SPA with 5 CARITA and DECLEOR treatment rooms, the Anfiteatro restaurant with VIP room, serving traditional Sicilian dishes, the Pool Bar and a 200 seat conference hall making it an ideal place for important events and special occasions. ... more   less
