A wonderful hotel with great views. Food was good and service not too bad even though we were there with a large Riveria Travel group, one downside the air conditioning is only turned on between 1pm and 8pm so the room was a bit hot even with the window open. Not too sure if they turn it on in the... More

We stayed here for 4 nights on a Riviera travel tour and it is a delightful place to stay, perched up high overlooking the bay of Taormina, and mount Etna, the most stunning views around. A privately owned hotel of exceptional quality, antique furniture, beautiful terraces and gardens and a pool to rival the best anywhere, its a little bit... More

Food excellent at dinner, waiters excellent.. Breakfast choices limited, no fruit, limited cereals..this is not like the same star hotels in Austria, which generally are much better on breakfasts. Desk staff efficient but not friendly. Rooms with Etna view can be noisy as there is a noisy road, uphill, outside. View of Etna is outstanding though.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was nice and view outstanding. It is on the edge of the town area so more accessible than most of the hotels. We arrived late at night and the ktichen went out of its way to feed us.

Well, nice view if you can get a room facing west. That's where the volcano is and you might be lucky to see it burp. At the same time you have a view of 10km. of what's between. The bar at ground floor has the same view. The hotel is at the far western end of the city. Parking is... More

We had a week here in April. I get the impression that the poor reviews are a little out of date, as the decor is fine, bathroom modern, etc. Room was reasonably spacious, but could do with a bit more wardrobe space and clothes hangers. Balcony was, as others have said, small but with great view to Etna and side... More

No complaints at all with our out of season visit and would recommend to travellers looking for an ideally situated hotel with all amenities , even if a little 'tired' in parts. But remember to take your own pillow !

This hotel (which is over a hundred years old) has a slightly old-world elegance with wonderul gardens, swimming pool and outlook towards both the sea and Mount Etna. Our room was very spacious with generous storage and a shower more powerful than any I have previously come across in a hotel (room 022 - oddly, next to the room where... More

We stayed for a week having booked through Citalia. The views from the hotel are wonderful, stretching north and south along the coast with Etna rising magnificently inland. The main street of Taormina, Corso Umberto, starts at the front of the hotel but as you also look down from the patio onto the Autostrada there is significant traffic noise. Our... More

Helpful, polylingual staff; comfortable, decent-sized room, good breakfast, lovely swimming pool - big enough actually to swim in, and to top it all direct views of Etna gently smoking away from the room window. If one wanted to cavil, then the balcony is quite small, and there is no parking (but the multistorey carpark is not far away). But these... More
