The Residenza della Signoria opened in September 2008. It is a charming town house suite located in an elegant and ancient palace in Via dei Tavolini right around the corner from Via de' Calzaiuoli, the most famous Florentine street connecting the Dome to Piazza della Signoria. Thanks to our excellent location in the historical center, just few steps away from the Uffizi gallery, you can quickly reach the main monuments and the most exclusive boutiques in Florence on foot. The accomodation is elegant, refined and includes all the facilities; your stay will be unforgettable, a dream in the Renaissance atmosphere of the Florence city centre. The property is situated on the third floor of the building provided with a comfortable elevator (comfortable for 4 person). In a charming and elegant environment we offer 6 silent and large rooms overlooking Via Calzaiuoli, the typical red roofs of Florence or offering a view of the Dome. Each room is characterised by wooden floors, 4 meter (13 ft) high coffer style ceilings with exposed beams, classic style handmande furniture decorated by expert Italian artisans and luxurious upholstery. The comfort is provided by KING SIZE beds (200cm x 180cm or 79in x 71in), independent air conditioning, private ensuite bathroom with glass shower and bidet, double glazed windows, hairdryer, LCD TV 19" with DDTV, electronic safebox, free wireless and wired internet connection, telephone with direct access to outer line. All rooms are no-smoking rooms. Some Junior suites large about 26 sqm are also available, with living room zone, table and 2 armchairs. These can also be made up with 1 or 2 extra beds wihtout reducing the room habitability. The extra beds are not just sofa-beds but real beds able to provide the same comfort as standard beds.
When travelling with my family all we had was a terrible experience. The beds were horrendous, the pillows hard as bricks, the bathrooms full of mold and fungi. We couldn’t receive our money back once we asked. There was a hobo living at the entrance of the building every single night.

The room is small but has character. Very high ceilings and antique phone. No safe. No frills . Our train was delayed, so we had to get into the building with two different codes . It was dark, and we had trouble seeing the keypad. Luckily, another guest was coming out and showed us how to get in and how to use the sort of scary looking elevator. Once we got it, all was fine, but I panicked at the thought of not getting on. The host had messaged us the codes while we were on route, and he was a sweet young guy. But in the future, I think.i will be sure there is a reception desk or the hist will meet you at the property to let you in and Orient you on person I guess my age is showing. The hotel is in a good location. Did not have far to go for food choices. We got lost a lot, but that's on us. The property is good.…

We loved our stay at the Residenzia Della Signora. The location could not have been more perfect. Truly in the best neighborhood for shopping restaurants and sight seeing. The room was super clean and comfortable and more importantly QUIET! You would never know the crowds of people on the streets were even there. Matteo and Giavonna were helpful with restaurants recommendations and assisting with a taxi. So glad we found this lovely place to stay!

This was the perfect location for us, a multigenerational family of 10, including 3 children. Having an elevator was extremely helpful with luggage and since one of our family members was recovering from a medical procedure and would not have been able to manage stairs. It was centrally located and a very short walk to many major attractions. The children loved being steps away from the carousel and across the street from excellent gelato. I cannot say enough about how kind and welcoming Stefano was. He was available to us at anytime and never made it seem like a burden to respond to a request. For this reason I cannot imagine staying at any other accommodation in Florence.

Location is excellent... right in the heart of the city. The Host is a very nice and helpful gentleman. The room was a bit spartan, but nice and clean. The bathroom was very basic, but also clean. However... the ground floor of the building, which includes a substantial vestibule and elevator waiting area absolutely reeks of methane gas, as in, the stench of human you know what. This made the unavoidable task of entering and leaving our residence an absolutely awful experience; to the point, that we planned our last days around avoiding the odor by making sure we only entered and exited the residence one time each day. Of course, this pretty much eliminated the value of staying in the heart of the city. I also want to mention that we requested ice and were told they don't provide it and there is no place nearby to get any. I find this odd and unacceptable in a supposedly 3 star property. As a final positive note, I want to mention that the hotel has a breakfast agreement with the bakery next door, Il Forno S.r.l. I highly recommend you have breakfast there, regardless of whether you stay at Residenza Della Signoria. It is a wonderful little bakery/cafe with amazing pastries and cappuccino.…

The location can't be beat - right in the center of Florence and the Duomo, the Piazza della Signoria and the Piazza della Repubblica. The rooms are very clean, roomy and well appointed and maintained. Stephano was a charming host and provided good advice. This was our second time in Florence so we were less concerned with the gallieries, etc, and more interested in just soaking up the Italian way of life. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Florence.

We stayed here for 9 days in Sept/Oct. Stefano was a wonderful host with great suggestions on what to see/where to eat (we very much enjoyed the conversations), and his staff just as helpful. The location was absolutely Perfect being a few minutes from the Duomo, Piazza de Repubblica, Palazzo Vecchio, and almost across the street from Orsanmichele Church. Great restaurants, bakeries, gelato shops, and a small grocery are within steps from Residenza della Signoria!

This B&B was awesome. It was our third hotel in Florence after returning from Verona. The location was very good, close to everything. You can see the duomo from the window. Stefano was very accommodating and allowed us to choose any room from three different sizes. I think we were the only ones there on our first night. The cold water dispenser in the common room was very handy. The cafe next door served nice breakfast, great gelato across the street and pizza about half a block away. I felt very safe on the third floor and security was good. Bed was comfortable and very large (king size). AC was fantastic. It was very clean and nicely appointed. We would definitely look at using this B&B again.

We’ve just returned from a three night visit. We first stayed here in 2010 and it was lovely to return. We even had the same room with a wonderful view of the duomo which was fantastic! The room was spacious, with beautiful furniture and it was spotlessly clean. The air conditioned and window shutters meant it was lovely and cool inside the room. Stefano was very helpful and runs a lovely establishment. He gave us restaurant recommendations, taxi numbers and emailed local hairdressers in advance of our visit as we had to attend a wedding. The little kitchen has cool water available, a fridge and a coffee machine -60 cent for a coffee. The location is just super-only minutes from the main sights yet our room was wonderfully quiet. We would definitely stay here again when in Florence and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.…

This is the best place we stayed in during our trip in Italy. The following are all of the pros: Wonderful owner (Stefano) who was super friendly, kind and helpful. Great location- you can literally walk everywhere from this spot. Clean and well maintained Free water to fill up your reusable water bottles. Best gelato place right across from the exit. Quiet at night and comfortable. Beautiful architecture and room design. Plenty of room for all of your stuff. Great price. Safe location. Cons- NONE This place rocks. Do not look elsewhere.
