We stayed in La Romea for 3 nights on a friend's recommendation. It was great. It's in a 14th century building up a flight of stone stairs not too far from the main shopping street. Magnificant. Beautiful rooms, Giulio & Gaia are the most gracious hosts. Genuine and warm, always a smile on their faces, makes you feel like family. Wonderful breakfast served every morning, great location. Stayed only two nights and wanted to stay for a week. We will be back!

Giulio and Gaia were wonderful hosts on our visit to Lucca. The B&B is on the 2nd floor (piano nobile in Italy) and remains very much as originally built, except that quite nice modern bathrooms have been added to each room.
