First things first - you DO need a car to get to this place, and our TomTom was practically rendered useless on those roads, taking us round the other side of the hill!!! But then, we called Michele and told him we're stuck, and he came to pick us up - Michele and Titsana are the warmest hosts ever, they'll... More

First off - you WILL need a car to get here and then you will need very good directions to this place. From the other reviews, you will note that getting to this place can be a challenge. The reason is you will exit the paved road onto an unpaved road to get to this place. The unpaved road did... More

I really debated whether to put this review up, but I feel I owe it to the Trip Advisor community. We booked this B &B based on it's high rating, and I saw that people wrote it was hard to find - but with a map and a GPS we circled a scary little windy road for almost an hour!!!... More

We are always ready to receive bad reviews because it definitely helps us to grow. Sorry for the inconvenience incurred, but the site contains three interactive maps and pdf googlemap streetwiew to help guests. I remember that we are in the countryside, 4 km from the center and all the guests who have contacted us are then reached. I recall... More

We stayed in this place with my family in 6 person. The place is in middle of nature and it's also very closed to city center. It takes only 4-5 minutes to go over the Perugia city center. But if you don't have a car, it's not possible to reach at B&B. Owner family lives in same building and they're... More

Let me start by saying that you need a car. No question about it. Our Garmin GPS bought from US had no issues finding the address, even though it's not that straightforward. The little narrow unpaved road from the main was not easily climbed by our rented Fiat 500 (by the way, stay away from this ridiculous car!) But when... More

C'era una volta (which means once apon a time in English) was the best value of our entire trip, but it's not just the value that merits the top rating. The place is gorgeous. Each room is unique and charming (I got a peek into most of them) and even the bathrooms are extremely nice. This was the quietest place... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Once upon a time...is a B&B emerged in the Umbrian green hills just in front of the ancient walls of Perugia and therefor the perfect starting point to visit the town! Our B&B is a typical rural Umbrian house built of bricks and beautiful roof tiles. A traditional Umbrian house joined with modern respect of nature, which for us is fundamental. We produce our own electricity with our photovoltaic implant which produces warm-water. A heat pump produces heating and also supplies us with energy for air-conditioning. This guaranties maximum comfort and restrains the consumption. To minimise any kind of impact on nature we have adapted recycling which abled us to achieve a "ecosostenibilità da Legambiente" mark, eco-sustainability from Legambiente (the most widespread environmental organisation in Italy, "association of environmental intrest")Our guests are welcomed to a family-based stay in a flat with an independent entrance on the first floor. We are more than pleased to give advice on what to visit and we gladly give indications to unknown artistic and culinary destinations in the territory. With love for tradition, such as ancient furniture, wooden beam and historical agricultural equipment, we have created our frame for the B&B.A big porch surrounds the B&B and guests are given the possibility to lay down in the hammock and listen to familiar sounds from the owl, the hoopoe, or if you are an early bird even hear the cock-crow.If you are more of a sporty person you can go for a walk in the forest, gather typical land products or simply just go for a bike-ride admiring the beautiful settings. ... more   less
