Clearly, this hotel has good everything you would expect for this level of accomodation. So, no surprise you find it almost falutless. Location, especially, cannot be beaten. But, hey, this comes at a price. I think they could as well lower the rates of some 30-40 EUR. Parking you car close to it proves also difficult and/or expensive.

Stunning grande dame...right in the heart of the city...we had the best time...loved the bar, the champagne, the mood & atmosphere! Staff was great and grounds amazing, in a nutshell i wouldn't stay anywhere else if I was going back to Amsterdam!

Stayed at Sofitel for two nights. The bedroom is modern and chic. Their concept of a king size bed is actually two individual beds put together. Not sure what it is about Sofitels...a brand I associate with Westins, with generally mixed properties. The Sofitel Grand Amsterdam seems to try to hard, and straddles the line between a Westin like brand and more luxury brand aspirations.
