good location. easy to walk from centraal st. nice breakfast avai. staff were fine. rooms and bathroom areas pretty clean. safe and secure as YHA's are. look after yourself esp in the red light district (turn right out of hostel about 10min walk north from the hostel) or turn left from hostel and find an area of shops and cafes... I stayed here for five nights in a 16-bed dorm; I ended up here beacuse the rates they charged on Friday and Saturday nights were actually reasonable (the weekend rates at many Amsterdam hostels are more than double the rate they charge the rest of the week). The hostel faces one of the canals and is walking distance form a... More

Located in the center of amsterdam, this hostel is very close to most of the main attractions. The beds are decent, but none of the rooms have bright lights they are fitted with only bed lamps. One good thing about having just bed light is people tend to hangout in the reception area (which has good seating area and wifi)... More

I think the hostel was reaaaally good. I paid, booking in advance, of course, 16 euros per night. The room was clean, the duvet, mattress and pillow were clean as well. Sheets were clean as well. Heating was on, what is such a nice thing! The only thing missing in the room was something to put your things, an individual... More

The rooms in the place feel like prison dorms. There are no individual lights, nor anywhere to store things (such as phones) near the actual beds. There are few power sockets which causes a problem. On the plus side, the lockers are very spacious and are just outside the rooms. The bathrooms are small a bit dodgy, but are clean... More

Went as a group of 8 and paid the cheapest price (for a mixed dorm of 20) but got a dorm of 8 to ourselves. Reception was friendly and reasonably helpful; beds were comfortable with colourful sheets; breakfast was satisfactory (bread - not toast - cheese, ham, chicken, jams, cereal, coffee, orange juice); bathrooms were okay - slightly soggy floors.... Stayed here for 2 nights in October 2011, was bitten by bed bugs both nights. The chill out area is directly in front of the front desk and the staff bang around like they are angry that you are there. It is handy to town though and it was super cheap which is what we were after. We were in... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Location was close to Dam Square and it is only a couple of stops away from the main train station. Stayed in a room of 16 beds but it was quite spacious for me. However, there were only a couple of outlets in each room so we had to take turns plugging our laptops/cellphones. Locker... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hostel is in quite a good central location, which is cool. The staff are really nice and friendly, and pretty helpful. Only bugbear is general hostel stuff like noisy roommates and smelly bathrooms! Oh, and coming in late one night got a shock as a mouse went darting past me on the stairs!! Overall for... More
