excellent, helpful reception; very good and charming breakfast; very well located and quiet; room was a bit small, but overall the price was very reasonable for all the amenities.

Good location, breakfast included, nice patio, friendly staff. They have a hotel cat which was nice for us because we miss our cat. The cat is as friendly as the staff. They are about a block from a large park with a lake. I would stay there again if I was in Amsterdam.
You can pay a fortune for hotels in Amsterdam, particularly those situated along the canals. Or alternatively you can spend much less and stay in a more modest though comfortable hotel like The Owl. Besides being in a quiet location and offering good value for money, this very well run family hotel has two other advantages. Firstly it is very...

I stayed in Amsterdam for 4 nights for a city break before heading home after working elsewhere in the Netherlands for two weeks. I found it very difficult to find an available, affordable place to stay for the dates I wanted, as it was school holidays and the week following Queen's Day, however I'm glad my endless searching on TripAdvisor...

I have just got back from a long weekend staying in The Owl Hotel, Amsterdam. The Hotel is ideally located in a quiet residential street in the Museum District close to the Van Gough Museum. We loved the Hotel. It is a typical Dutch multi-storied Hotel full of character.
Pieter on reception was very friendly and welcoming and went out...

We stayed at the Owl for 3 nights on a short break to take in the 'Queen's Day' celebrations at the end of April. As soon as we arrived (early) we were told our rooms were ready and given a warm, friendly and efficient welcome by the proprietor. In fact he and all the staff were friendly and efficient going...

This is a first rate small hotel in Amsterdam. It is very close to Leidseplein, which is very convenient for public transportation. There is also a great choice of inexpensive restaurants nearby. The hotel is just off the busy street and is very quiet. The room was fully adequate in size with a modern bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean....

Four of us stayed here for a girls weekend away. It was great; the hotel is within walking distance of the city centre (20mins stroll) and very close to the canal boat tours that take you round. We had a four bed room (1 set of bunks - which were very stable even with an adult on the top bunk)....

My wife and I stayed at the Owl Hotel April 12 – 18th, 2012. We were on vacation and wanted a central location to experience Amsterdam. Perfect location to walk anywhere in the city. The major museums and concert hall were just a few blocks away, and restaurants & shopping close by. We saw all the city highlights and took...

We visited Amsterdam in February 2011 as part of a midterm break for the kids. The weather really helped sunshine and 2 degrees. The Hotel was particularly family friendly and accommodated a family of 4 comfortably. Breakfast was super and the staff at reception were really helpful. The museums a must - Anne Frank Museum would advise to book online...
