Very good location. Got there at 11.30 am and was told room ready. In the basement and was not the best place to be.Very basic and dark. Clean though and warm if you switched the radiators on. Boiling hot water. Should have requested another room. Especially when we checked out and was asked "Oh so you were ok in that room?... More

Very good experience I have had. The hotel is very quiet and the staff has been very friendly and helpful. The conditions are good, however I would suggest to place a kettle in each room to allow the customers to make their own herbal, relaxing tea to unwind after an excessive walking. Also, the location is perfect especially for someone... More

I visited Amsterdam in the month of march and stayed in hotel sander for 2 nights. It is the usually recommended hotel by Indian travel agents. However i found the hotel to be very basic with extremely small rooms, TV not working, the most basic breakfast spread i found in my stay across Europe. The staff is courteous and willing... More

I had booked a three-star hotel room and got a shabby and! tiny room worthy of a maximum of one star. The hotel is not too far away from the center of Amsterdam and is staffed by attentive personnel, which are probably the two good things I can say about this place. The room provided by the attentive staff was... More

This hotel is not a clean one, and breakfast is just a fake 'buffet': only a small dish with very tiny slices of cheese(1), salami(1) and ham(1) per person! The bed is 30cms from the walls... The carpet (even the one which covers the elevator walls...) is very old and untidy. You have to give more 4% of your bill... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of June 2011. It is located in a quiet, residential area of the city, just round the corner from the No 16 tram stop which runs through the city centre to the central station. Vondel park is within 400 metres and there is a pizzeria and... More

In the states, a 3 star bid in almost any city gets you a decent, clean (hamton inn, etc) hotel. Not in AMS, so you have to get a b&b or bid for 4-5 star place. We had a basement room, which was so gross... mirror falling off wall, bad carpet, TINY bathroom, tile broken, mold, etc. I felt gross... More

Unpleasant staff who placed us in a dingy basement room on Day 1 then moved us (a married couple) to two single rooms on separate floors Day 2 - the single rooms were tiny, dingy, scruffy with no tea/coffee facilities, no iron, no basic hairdryer, the tiny tele hardly worked, had to practically crawl up the steep stairs to our... On arrival we were asked to hand over money as a 'security deposit' - no mention was made of this at time of booking. When we questioned this the hotel staff pointed at a note that had been sticky taped to the desk. Offered no choice we had pay. The money was returned on check out, credit card details kept... More
