Its average but what can you expect for the price. Very kind front desk. Parking is free and location is good. Breakfast has great croissants and good orange juice. Stay away from the eggs or what it may be. The townhall want to close it. Go there and help save this unique seamans hotel

Our veterans rugby team travelled to Antwerp for their annual tour this weekend and accomodation was provided by the Zeemanshuis. It did "exactly what it said on the tin" by offering a central location, within budget and with the barest minimum of service. However, it's certainly NOT a fun hotel. Originally designed for retired sailors to end their days one... More

Large and very clean establishment... almost like a hospital. Around the corner from the red light district, but I found that out only by the red-light markers on Falconplein... no scandalous establishments close to the hotel. Not many guests since it was out of season. Very kind and helpful front desk and cleaning staff. The room was a good size... More

I spent a couple of days at a conference in Antwerp and found this nice hotel in a guide book from last years visit to Brugge. I had a single room with a very clean and nice bathroom. The bed had a hard mattress but I slept really good on it. (Might have been the nice beer....) Breakfast was plenty... More

I was here for a business trip, the hotel was not disappointing but not superb as well. The room was clean, its pretty safe because I left my craps everywhere and they didn't take it and my craps were still at the same place where I left, so they didn't really tidy up my room, just cleaned a little bit... The room was everything but not clean.. The place was infested with insects, mostly mosquitos. I myself killed some 10 of them. You can find spots of dead mosquitos all around the walls and the ceiling as well. We had just a one night stay in a double bed room. The wall had a huge piece of tapestry torn in... More

The 'Zeemanshuis' is a simple hotel, very sober but clean rooms. When you are looking for a cheap place to stay, the Zeemanshuis is a good location. Breakfast is simple but OK, the location is great, 5 minutes walk to the 'Grote Markt' with all the bars and restaurants you may want. Parking is next to the hotel and free!... More

This is a cheap hotel with no frills, but still worthwhile staying here. The building is a bit dated (from the 50s or early 60s), but it's clean inside and everything works, including the lift. The rooms are sparse and basic, with only a small bar of soap for the sum total of toiletries. You do have to push the... More

As a relatively regular visitor to Antwerpen, I was aware of the Zeemanshuis -- as some of the reviews on here testify, it's a popular choice among beer travellers -- but hadn't got round to staying in it. Earlier this year, with the GB pound struggling against the Euro, I was looking for a cheaper option than my usual haunt... More
