I've stayed here quite a few times and while it's perfectly acceptable overall, it's frustrating that the free broadband (only in the lobby!) is too slow to be usable. Time they moved into the 21st century.

We stayed at this hotel for the 11th year running, as we visit Belgium to play in a badminton tournament. This hotel is centrally located, being just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful main square, with its lovely buildings, restaurants and magnificent cathedral - around 500 steps to the top and a carillon played by a real person!!. Its...

We stayed often in NH Hotels in different places, so our choice of hotel was easily made when we decided to visit Mechelen. And still, after leaving, we are not sure that we will come back in this hotel. In many things this hotel is average. The staff at the reception is average. Not grumpy, but also not friendly, just...

We booked a last minute holiday in this hotel, and to be honest all in all it was a good stay at a reasonable price, we had a superior room, which in my eyes only reflected in a more spacious room with a good kingsize bed. The bathroom though was still very small. I think the room was redecorated a...

I have used the NH in Mechelen for many years on and off - starting when it was still the Alfa-Alba.
NH have done a good job of rennovating the hotel although I know that this is, as yet incomplete. I see other reviews on here pointing to the vast difference between rennovated and non-rennovated rooms, but I don't really...

Choose NH over Novotel (which is literally round the corner) because of prior good experiences in other NH hotels. Was VERY disappointed when shown room. I understand now why reviews were so vastly different. Some floors are renovated, some are not. BE CAREFUL which room you have! The unrenovated room was terrible with peeling wallpaper. It looked a sorry 2*...

Travelled to Mechelen for business. Arrived yesterday and came by car. The parking lot is only meant for experienced drivers, something that might be characteristic to all Mechelen parking lots underground.
Room is run down. Wallpaper is coming off the walls. Bad airco, made me sick. Remote controls is not working. I will try to get another room today. Friendly...

The hotel room we had was good and clean, with a very good (and large) bed and a decent bath room. The bath was a bit small though.
There is a free pillow service, which means that you can order the type of pillow you want. Very nice!
Nice shampoo.
We had breakfast delivered to the room (free for the...

Minutes walk from city center and train station, very convenient for business and leisure
Stayed at the NH last week on business. The hotel is in a central location within Mechelen and within good walking distance of local bars and restaurants.
The room I had looked as if it had been recently been refurbished and was a good size and very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar (extra)...
