pleasant room, good shower, comfy bed, friendly staff, stale rolls for breakfast. Very good italian restaurant next door. Very close to the Waterloo mound.

Only stopped here for a night following a flight to Brussels and to break up the drive to Ieper. Chose it so we could look at the Waterloo Panorama, museum and monument prior to doing WW1 visits. Hotel rooms were extremely comfortable but were a bit warm for me. The excellent restaurant scores 10/10 for food serice and ambience.
We were there Christmas week of 2011. The staff was great and breakfast was good. The hotel is right across the street from the battlefield so if that is your purpose (it was ours) it is a great place.
This 3 star hotel has been under new management since Jan 2011. (Readers need to be aware that Google maps have it in the wrong position. In street view the hotel is the unnamed building next to Les Deux Sil, within 80m of the crossroads -to the east of the Lion mound).

Went for lunch with old friends I had not seen since 4 years. Very nice lunch: good portions and very tasty. A lot of parking spots. Good service. Would definitely recommend the restaurant.
We wnet to visit the Waterloo battleground and decided to stay one night at this hotel.
The room was feet from a major roadway that had cars driving on it all night and there was no soundproofing.
The hotel had no hot water for showers in the morning
At 6am the fire alarm went off.
When I approached management about...

Located 200 meters from the museum, its position was perfect. It was easy to find and the car park ok. The service was good and flexible, but our room was a little small and dispite the modern decor needed at little maintenance on the shower fittings. There was some road noise, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was also good....

We had wanted to eat at the hotel after a long journey but the restaurant was not open so had to go out again to a local restaurant just around the corner. Breakfast was...

Staying at Le 1815 was one of the best decisions I made while traveling to Belgium for the purpose of visiting battlefields. It is a clean, cozy hotel with charming decor based on the battle's story. The staff is friendly, and the location is unbeatable (stepping out at night to see the Lion Mound illuminated in the darkness was really...

We chose the Hotel 1815 for its location right on the battlefield and its reasonable price, and we were not disappointed.
After our early arrival in Brussels airport, it was an easy drive to Waterloo, and we did have the same problem as a previous reviewer - the sign only faces one way - so we missed it the first...
