4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

Recently stayed at the Stanhope on business. Very nice hotel and not like the usual faceless hotels you get in most cities. Room was extremely spacious, good value and unique. What concerned me initially was being an old property that it would be rather more noisy than one of the big recognised chains however I was pleasantly surprised that it... More

The Stanhope was a nice hotel. It's not quite near the old city center but it's an easy walk through a beautiful park to get there (and honestly, I think it's much more quiet at the Stanhope than it would be in the city center). The staff were very helpful and nice. They recommended a great little area full of... More

First impressions of thw hotel were excellent, room was great but the window didnt close properly.. The manager instantly tried to fix the window but couldnt so gave us another room which ended up being an upgrade to a suite that was even better than the first room. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpfull and spoke good... More

Just returned from a Friday overnight at The Stanhope and would like to record what a great hotel it is. Situated in the business district, near to the Parc du Bruxelles, it was close enough to walk to the Grand Place (about 10 mins) but not too close to be disturbed by late night revellers. Our room was spacious and... More

A friend and I stayed in a twin room and it was a proper twin with reasonable space to move about. We did find it disappointing that we had to pay so much / extra for wifi access in our room which is why this didn't get full marks. The bar was small but well-stocked and had a reasonable range... A unique centrally located property, very different from what you expect from a standard city center hotel. The atmosphere is more like at countryside. As other reviewers note the courtyard is absolutely lovely, especially when I stayed in April and the cherry trees were blooming. What a wonderful place to have a glass of champagne in the middle of Brussels!... More

Stanhope hotel is located just between the Financial and the Diplomatic Districts of Brussels. During the week they are quite busy, but during weekend they sell their rooms at budget prices. Rooms, service and breakfast all at five star level. Wonderful decorated in Old English Style with everything you can imagine. On a 2 minute walk from Royal Palace, 10... More

More of a boutique hotel than a chain. A large reception area leading out to a lovely courtyard with blossom trees and numerous tables for dining/drinking. A very small, but pleasant bar area. Room was large and bright and very comfortable. Hotel seems intent on 'green' practices - lights come on and go off as you move around the hotel.... More

Wonderful courtyards, ideal for a drink and chat in the spring sunshine. Gives it more of a southern European feel. Service is high quality, food good and bedrooms comfortable. A shame again though no kettle or tea. All well appointed and very central, and on a human scale

I guess the best thing about the Stanhope is that it isn't part of a big chain. Everything is just more comfortable and human than most big hotels that we get to go to. The bar near reception, the breakfast, the rooms and the atmosphere are all quite special. Thoroughly recommended.
