A great place to stay for a few nights whilst traveling around the Western Front. Clean rooms, lovely breakfast, free internet..

We were advised by our battlefield tour guide from Pozieres to stay at the Sultan.It was quite small,cleanish and well located. Very friendly staff,great veiw of the Cloth Hall and only a short walk to the Mennin Gate for the Last Post and ceremony. So close to the WW1 battlefields,Cemetary's and monuments.Passchendale,Langmark Cemetary,Tyne Cotte Cementary,Polygon Wood etc. Only really dissapointing... More

Stayed at the Sultan dec 5th one night. The hotel is in a perfect position on the town square. It is basic but fairly clean and comfortable. The staff are polite. Good base to tour flanders fields,also a good array of bars and shops arround. Never found noise a problem and we stayed in a front room.

the hotel sultan is, friendly, clean, comfortable and in a great spot to explore, flanders, 2 minutes from the menin gate, and right across from the cloth hall and flanders museum

*No frills hotel but comfortable quiet rooms with free wifi, tv, breakfast included (juice, tea, coffee, bread/toast, ham and cheese, eggs, cereal) *Parking across the road in town square for free *Restaurants/take away/corner shops very close by

This hotel needs a refit.the carpets are dirty and stained in the stairs, hallway and rooms. The decor and furniture should be replaced ,and a window without dry rot would be nice.(i didn't try to open the window,i thought it might fall out). henk has had to give up his bar due to ill health, but the hotel is clean, the people are friendly and helpful, the situation on the gross market a definate plus, and good value for money...I disagree with some who think its not plush enough...they should pay extra in the novotel if thats what they desire.

I have visited this hotel twice and the last time was with my father and son and nephew. We went to look at the battlefields and found that this hotel offers good sized accomodation (family room), very clean and great value for money. Basic but for the purpose of our trip it fitted the bill!

This is not a hotel. Go to an Ibis if you want one. On arrival rang bell untill blue in the face. Dont expect tea making facilities etc etc l just bottled water and a bottle of shower gell. All it realy has going for it is a view of the Cloth Hall. Stayed first week in August, big mistake,... More
