Just come back from a lovely weekend break in the Woodland Lodge Room 20, the location and Hall are stunning, perfect little Downton Abbey. Stayed with my parent and was bit concerned about the negative reviews, should not have worried. OK Woodland Lodge from the outside is not inkeeping with the Main Hall and yes it is a little scruffy... More

We had a fabulous 3 days here for a relatively small amount. Good value, good food. Drinks a bit pricey but overall an excellent place. Swimming pool needs upgrading which is due soon but warm and accessible. We stayed in the Woodlan lodge which is not so far away from the building as you might think. Warm and spacey. Will... More

I recently stayed here as part of an NUT conference for the weekend. The place looks incredible - very well decorated in the main hall and library, as well as all the conference rooms. I was staying in the Woodland Lodge, which is in the grounds just a 2 minute walk from the main building. My room was quite disappointing,... More

Wonderful building. Atmosphere at xmas was something else. They had music/choir, open fire, all the xmas trees and trimmings - it was like walking into wonderland! Rooms in converted stable buildings perfectly adequate. Had a wonderful big room, high ceilings, beautiful bathroom, fab view out the window. Daughter also had a good single room next door. We all went swimming,... More

We spent four nights here recently whilst attending a wedding in the area. It is wonderful. In fact the first view of the hotel when you turn the corner on the drive takes your breath away! We were firstly given one of the rooms in the old stables round the back of the hotel but asked if we could be... More

I could smell B O on my pillows and asked for replacement. The second night I found out it was the bed that had B O. The room was in the Stable Block. I asked for a rubber mat for the bath, it was perished and did not hold so I fell trying to get out of the bath. I... More

We attended this venue for an afternoon tea via groupon. From the initial call to book we were impressed by the polite friendly staff. Upon arrival despite being early we were greeted by a very polite young man on reception and shown to our table by a lovely young girl named Jordan. Nothing was too much trouble for her even... More

We spent two nights in one of the mansion rooms in the main building. We were a little nervous after reading some of the reviews after we had booked the room. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was a good size with a view over the local fields and golf course. Very quiet. The Reflections restaurant was excellent with huge... More

I have just spent three nights at this hotel, which were quite pleasant. Our Room no 28 in the Stable Block was small but adequate and very clean and well equiped. And no noises- very quiet position. Poblems with the blind and window were dealt with promptly- excellent. Staff were very good. The girl in the Terrace Bar last night... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night for a family wedding. The venue itself looked great and the event was very enjoyable. It was the hotel experience which made for a very average stay. We were in the stable block in a room which smelt musty, had a stained carpet and a tiny bathroom. We had disturbed sleep due... More
