We were lucky in that we got a 1/2 price deal with the Pousada (seems there are always specials around) so we took the Historic Suite, their best room, for 120euros a night. What a treat! Beautiful huge bedroom, two bathrooms and a fescoed living room with 18th c. paintings and elegant furniture. Off the living room was our own... More

Our first ever pousada stay was at the Pousada Dos Loios de Evora right next to old Roman ruins in the old part of the city. While it was difficult to get to because of the very narrow streets in the old city (might have been our GPS!), it was worth the effort. This pousada is a converted monestary and... More

We enjoyed several very fine days at this historic pousada in this historic city. The location of the hotel could only be called exceptional. Literally opening the front doors and there before you is a Roman temple and to your right an historic chapel! Just steps away is the fine museum, the cathedral and numerous others fascinating streets and sites... More

By turning old buildings (like this former convent) into the best of boutique hotels the government really knows what they are doing. This was beautiful with an ancient Roman Temple of Diana just outside the main entrance. The atmosphere was serene with a grand staircase from the lobby up to the rooms setting the tone for the whole visit. The... More

The hotel is just in the very centre of Evora with a beautiful foyer. But all good ends here. Our suite did not have a real window, the bathroom was obsolete and breakfast terrible. Showering in our bathroom, fairly obsolete, may flood the room if one were not very careful. Overall service was very poor.

Our party of six stayed at the Pousada in Evora for New Years Eve and an additional night. We have used Pousadas before so knew they were a little eccentric. The welcome and car parking were great. The bellboy could not have been more helpful. We had standard (basic) rooms which were on the second floor which is reached by... More

The location of Pousada dos Loios couldn't be better and staff couldn't be more accomodating. The pousada is within easy walking distance of just about anything you'd like to see if Evora. And, the Roman Ruin, Temple of Diana, is just outside the door. Evora is a pretty town and a fun place to explore. The pousada is a very... More

Rooms are decent but staying here is all about the atmosphere. It's in a renovated old convent within the old city walls located right across from the Templo Romano. The public spaces are beautiful and breakfast is served around the courtyard area. Don't expect 4 star luxury but if you want to stay in a comfortable 18th century convent, this... More

Our whole trip through Portugal was amazing, but this hotel was a highlight of our trip! The location just can't be beat! The staff was amazing, the rooms were amazing! I would skip the restaurant and head out anywhere else for a better dinner! Go to the market and pack a picnic lunch and stop by the wine shop for... More

This is a lovely old building , staff are pleasant and helpful . Public areas impressive as is the dining room around an internal glazed cloister . Food was good and reasonable value with good service . Signage poor and if arriving by car lack of a GPS would create problems . Covenient for visiting main sites in Evora .... More
