Good points: cheap; has a supermarket nearby; large swimming pool. Bad points: very dirty room - our balcony window had the remains, from what can only be described as someone's meal when we arrived and wasn't cleaned during our week stay; dirty bathroom; poor quality beds; very noisy at nights - our room was close to the road. Also, the... More

We have been going to this Hotel for a few years now. Having just returned I can happily report the the Alagoa continues to offer excellent value and service. We find the location is fine and quite enjoy the walk into the Old Town, though if mobility is an issue be prepared to use local Taxis. From the Old Town... More

Me and my mum arrived at this hotel on Saturday 19th May 2012. When we first got there, the reception area was very slow and we were waiting there for about 5-10 minutes so I was a bit disappointed with that. Once we were in our room, we were very happy with what we had paid for, the only disappointment... More

Booked this because of reviews on Tripadvisor. Was very disappointed. This is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are extremely dark and do not have double beds. If your want a mini bar in your room you must pre order the stock the day before. Breakfast is very good and so is the pool area. Wifi is extra and... More

This was our fourth time in two years April26th to May 3rd 2012, location great 10min walk to old town, 20 min to the new town, granted it is situated by the main road however, book a pool view no problem with traffic noise. We always stay AI and due to the Eurozone recession we had concerns that standards may... More

Granted, this is a 4 star hotel, with all the facilties you would expect of one. However, before booking it, I would suggest that you go on google earth and look at the location of the hotel. Now zoom out a bit and take a 360 around the hotel. Did you see the busy road outside, or the fire station... More

i found it difficult to find fault with this hotel, all staff were very nice and friendly. some parts of the hotel could do with a face lift (corridors very poorly lit and reception could be brightened up). rooms were clean and comfortable plenty to choose from at breakfast, though sausages and bacon not to our standard.(THIS APPEARS TO BE THE... Dear Guest We thank you for your review and praise of our staff will be passed on. Regarding our breakfast, I would like to comment that we have live show cooking in our restaurant where sausages and bacon are cooked in front of the guests, meaning that they may request at that moment how they want their bacon, sausages (...
