The gardens and thermal swimming pool are superb. The hotel had an excellent restaurant and the room had a great view. Its apparently about to be refurbished, but we enjoyed the 'Art Deco' style. Its a good walk from the lake, but close to the village - its only a small village (though large by Azorean standards!)

Its a charming old style Hotel but in good condition, freindly staff, good breakfast. You also can enter the Garden without paying the entrance of 5 Euro. Terra Nostra Garden Hotel is centrally located in Furnas. The staff is very helpful - with advice for restaurants, walking, and they rent bicycles if you so desire.
