Obidos is absolutely gorgeous, and I was enchanted by this little hotel. There is no getting away from history, with rooms named after Portuguese queens, and a view from the bedroom balcony across the sweet little courtyard to the impressive, ancient city walls. Despite being inside the walls of the higgledy piggledy village, rightly attracting a fair few tourists, it... More

If you chose a hotel inside the walls of an old village, you have to expect an adventure getting there.Once up the very narrow cobbled streets the welcome could not be warmer. The decor is really exquisite...simple furnishings in pleasing colors with great accent pieces and paintings. Our room had a limestone en suite bathroom, and a balcony with chairs... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our recent visit to Portugal. First thing to note, it is hard to drive in Obidos and hard to find the hotel. Neither printed directions nor a GPS provide adequate help, and the streets are as narrow as everyone says they are. We entered the town no problem, but could... More

Obidos is a strange place - rather shabby and touristy, although if it was spruced up a bit it could be very nice. The hotel itself is trying very hard to be a boutique hotel but slightly misses the mark. It is also difficult to drive to and you may find yourself having to drag your cases up steep and... More

I didn't stay at the hotel but went to the restaurant because it was recommended by my hotel's staff. I wanted to post a review of the restaurant, and found this to be the only place I could write about it. Go to this restaurant! The food is exceptional, the staff is super attentive and the atmosphere is perfect. I... More

We stayed 1 night at Casa das Senhoras Rainhas. The hotel is very quaint and beautiful right inside the walls of the walled city of Obidos. The courtyard outside the room is beautiful, where you can enjoy the quiet, the flowers and the glass of port they leave for you. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was huge... Obidos is a charming village to spend a couple of nights. We really liked Casa Das Senhoras from the first moment we arrived.... after a long flight from Canada we were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink on our balcony! Rooms were very clean with modern washrooms. We could not get the wireless internet from our room (as walls are... More

We stayed here on one of our last nights in Portugal, after having wonderful experiences in Lisbon, Palmela, Evora, Marvao, Aveiro and the Duoro River valley region. I guess if you hadn't seen a walled city before, Obidos might be worth a visit but not an overnight stay. It takes about an hour to experience the very touristy attractions, and... More

Wonderful accommodation and hospitality at this delightful boutique hotel located within the walled town of Obidos. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Our room had a small balcony which added to its charm and we enjoyed sitting there surrounded by the ambience of this Queens Town. Friendly, helpful staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and... More

We stayed four nights, eating in the restaurant for two of them. Our tower room was large, nicely decorated, with a good bathroom & views over the walls & also up the lane opposite the hotel. Every day you are given fresh fruit, local cherry liqueur, & chocolate cup-cakes in the room. The breakfast was huge, and the dinners were... More
