Two nights here. On arriving the reception staff were a little abrupt and surly. Room adequate. Pool okay. Breakfast is buffet style and a little "sad". The coffee machine is awful, and produces the worst coffee on the island.

Staff are fantastic but food is overpriced and geared for tourists only. No locals there (I speak Portuguese). I would got to the local restaurant up the hill (oposite petrol station), much better food, extremelly friendly people and very reasonably priced.

The hotel isn't up to 4 star standard. It's old, slovenly, the receptionists are crabby and uninteresting for client problems. The rooms are clean but there aren't the facility of 4 star hotel. O Colmo is a large hotel and restuarant in the centre of Santana.
