My Mom and I went to Porto for 5 days and stayed in the Hotel Teatro. Everything from the room to the staff to the food was absolutely wonderful. Although we already had high expectations from other written reviews, I can promise you that the staff and the hotel exceeded those expectations. While we benefited from a nice room upgrade,... More

Hotel felt quite claustrophobic. It is terribly dark and the rooms appear to be somewhat smaller than the photographs led me to believe. The welcome was rather cold by the staff too - something which is most uncharacteristic of Porto people. But the thing that really put me off the place is that there were no people in the bar... I spent a night here when in Porto last week. Teatro is a theme hotel with all the ambience of a theater and show. Lights are dim and built as spotlights, various theater equipment is strown around, there are costume racks in the lobby and more. The hallways are also dim and there is definitely something in the air. The... More

We were wowed by the photos on the net, the theme of it and the prices. On our arrival receptions personnel were extremely helpful! Entrance is very original and shows up especially in the evening! Room was spacious. Bathroom very big and bed comfortable. Theer were certain details that didn't work out correctly like for example the lack of space... More

Part of the Design Hotel series, the Hotel Teatro is slick. Dark halls, dark hooms, and mirrored surfaces. Unless you pull down the blinds, you can see your travel companion enoying their bath in the claw foot tub (Hi Mum!). Breakfast was very good - fresh fruit, organic yogurt, toast, eggs and cereal. Close to major shopping areas and in... More

If you are after some seriously theatrical atmosphere, this is the place for you: not suitable to lovers of minimalist style definitely, as the dark and gold furniture may feel a bit overwhelming but we loved it! Thumbs up for: - The very good location, right in the historic centre of Porto and walking distance to most tourist attractions -... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Hotel Teatro. It is an old theatre that has been renovated into a new hotel. They have successully kept the feeling of a theatre. The hallways are extremely dark, lots of brown curtains and feels like you are backstage in a theatre. When you arrive in the hallway, spotlights go on but, it is... More

Very nice, trendy hotel in the busy heart of the city. You can walk 1-2 miles in every direction and find all kinds of interesting things to learn & entertain. The staff was possibly the best we've come across, flawless English at all times, and always ready with suggestions and tips to make sure our 3 days were filled. The... More

Hotel Teatro is a lovely modern hotel in an excellent location. Our room was stylish and nicely decorated but very poorly lighted and inefficient. The bathroom was accessed via a transparent curtain that provided no privacy. The shower was very nice and the sink was quite beautiful. But, there was absolutely no place to put any toiletries except for the... More

A very centrally-located stylish hotel near Sao Bento station. It's within easy walking distance of all the main sights, the town square and Se Cathedral/Clerigos Tower. Great buffet breakfast with champagne. Lovely bar area with a good range of drinks (try the local ports and vinho verde). Only issues were that frequently one of the lifts was out of operation,...
