I've recently returned home from another visit to magical Skopelos. I usually stay in the enchanting old town and this time greatly enjoyed another dimension by staying at, local Sophie's labour of love, the 39 Steps. For people wishing to stay with modern conveniences but enjoy the spirit and heart of an old town, I would recommend it.

After travelling the Greek Islands for almost a month, 39 Steps was a real find. 39 Steps is first and foremost a romantic garden of bougainvillea, geraniums and trailing caper-vine against the textures of rock walls and terracotta pots. All of the reviews are right. and the accommodation at Sofia's 39 Steps will always be excellent, the terraces and courtyards always evocative, and the sunset beers always relaxing.
