a quite normal hotel with average breakfast, centrally located. Terrible shower, the room was in need of maintenance, the basin was broken, so was the walk-in shower wall, the pillows were lumpy but the bed was comfortable and they also had a garage. The check-in was quite slow as the staff was so busy with bookings.

The Uman was a welcome port after a 28 hour trip from Australia. I am used to an inclusive breakfast but the evening buffet and constant access to coffee, fruit and waffles was a lovely surprise. I find the tiny duvet puzzling but maybe this is a Swedish thing?

We stayed five nights; my wife and I. Our room on the top floor was a bit hot, 26 degrees, although we kept the window constantly open. Otherwise we have nothing to complain about, besides we could not get the WLAN work on the Mac. OK standard breakfast. Free simple buffet during the day makes you fell welcome. Friendly personal.

I had read somewhat mixed reviews on Uman, but was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are quite large, at least in a Swedish/European context. Clean and tidy with a good location downtown Umeå.
