I am a businessman that travels fairly extensively. This hotel is old both in its tired demeanour and its décor. The rooms are basic, but need redecoration, the shower worked well in my room (important to me) and the carpets were clean but well worn. Damp stains on the walls added to the feel that the place needed a makeover.... More

I've been visiting this hotel in September 2011 and I was impressed by the eighties-styled rooms which gave quite a unique experience (it actually felt like a time machine): I liked that but I understand it could possibly not fit everyone's taste. This is now gone as rooms have been entirely refreshed: new, bright interiors and modern furniture and decors... More

I stayed on Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel for 5 nights on a business trip, and it was a nice hotel with newly renovated rooms. The staff was very friendly, and it was a nice stay. The location is also very good. To get a full score, I would have liked the following to be fixed: * When showering, the... More

The hotel has a very nice location, just by the central station. There is a nice lounge on ground level, and a sky bar with a good view. I spent one night in a standard room. It was a spacious suite with two bedrooms, but it felt kind of old-school. The room had two tv's, both small old fat ones.... More

A good size hotel right by the central station. The rooms were ok in size and the bathrooms had a tub. The hotel pool was small, but a jacuzzi and a great fitnes room added up for that. Tried the sky bar saturday night, but the place was packed with partying swedes in their twenties. Loud tecno/ base music made... More

Nothing could be simpler than taking the airport train shuttle to within a one minute walk of the hotel lobby. A really convenient benefit if you have young children with you or heavy suitcases to carry. Stockholm is a smallish city, so finding your way into the heart of it from the hotel is easy - just across the road... More

We went to the Radisson Blu after our first hotel didn't work out. It has a good vibe and really is RIGHT at Central Station, which is great. Gamla Stan is also so much closer than we realized, too and Sodermalm is a walkable distance as well. Room 467 was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. The staff was... More

We stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a tour booked through Volvo. We had excellent directions to find the hotel, but when we found it there was no place to pull in. I anticipated an area where you would pull off the road and turn your car over to a valet for parking like one finds at... More

We stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic time. It's perfectly located for the airport transfer, whether you come in by train or bus, so no need for taxis or wandering the streets looking for it. We had one of the newly refurbished rooms on the business floor and it was lovely. I've stayed in a range of... More

Stayed a couple of nights each in both hotels in May 2012; a "suite" at Viking and a de luxe room at Rival (no suites available) - both with balcony. I wanted comfortable space and the ability to smoke. Rival wins out - the room was adequate rather than large, only slightly smaller than the Viking, but only SK3950 c/w... More
