The Hotel was renovated in near past. Everything is fine, breakfast is various and fresh with some local offer. You can notice, the hotel is not new, but it is decente. The restaurant serves tipical Austrian food. We had young beef, stufed ravioli and some pork. All delicious.

Had a very pleasant dinner, with good and friendly service. Food selection was quite international with local specialties, food was excellent in rather large and creative servings. Excellent winelist. Our visit was for a meal only and not to stay in the hotel.

My wife and I along with my wife's brother and wife stay at Austria Classic Hotel Weidenhof for 2 nights in July. We requested a disabled room for on the ground floor for the brother in law. The room they had was at the far end of a corridor. Along walk for a disabled person. Our room was on the 1st. floor over looking the main road and under the room on the ground floor was out side seating where people could smoke. As we are non smokers this was very uncomfortable for us. We asked to move rooms but hotel was full? The rooms were on the small side but clean. Pillows were very hard. The parking out side reception had 4 disabled parking bays. On returning form a day out we were unable to park our disabled car in a disabled bay due to able people taking up the disable bays, we asked at reception to find the drivers to move their cars. We were informed to park our car away from the disable bays. I would not recommend taking a disable person to this hotel, there are no lifts, long walks from hotel rooms to the eating area and to the car park?

I stayed in this hotel for one night on a business trip. From the outside it looks like a typical smaller country hotel you will find everywhere. But i was surprised and impressed by the room. Nice space, seperate area for the wardrobe, direct access to the terrace. Bathroom equipped with plenty of space and surprisingly with amenities you usually not find in a three star hotel. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection, staff was very friendly and helpful. Design of restaurant not really what i would call "stylish", but that doesn't matter if the food is good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel offers free WiFi and a good selection of TV channels. Asked why they do not have a fourth star. Answer: Because we do not have a lift for the upper floors. Seriously this is not required, the rest is at least more than three stars.

Small but comfortable rooms with balcony. It's not central, but walking distance from the stadium, which is where we were for work, so this was perfect. Plenty of free parking available. The bar serves great food (not just snacks) until late, and the hotel boasts a very varied and fresh breakfast buffet. Only downside (and the reason it's only getting four stars) is the lack of AC in the rooms. I believe the rates are 75 for a single, 115€ for a double/twin. Ask for a room facing away from the street if you want a quiet room.

Spent last night here, rooms are confortable, people is nice. Since we arrived late we had dinner here and the food was really good, waiters are nice and they dress the typical costume of this area. Price was good and wireless worked fine, which is crucial for someone who works for business. I'll be back!

As the experiences of the two previous reviewers of this hotel are poles apart, I thought I would add our comments. We have just returned from five nights at the Weidenhof and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We had a room at the front of the hotel, above the terrace and although during the day there was some traffic noise, at night it was beautifully quiet and we slept well. Our room was newly refurbished, spotlessly clean and spacious, likewise the ensuite bathroom. Improvements would be a fridge in the room and air-conditioning - we were there in September and it was fine, but I think that it could get pretty hot at night in July and August. We paid 100 Euros per night for this double room, including breakfast, (booked directly with the hotel) which was about right for this standard of hotel. Wouldn't want tp pay more. We ate in the hotel on three evenings because the food was so good. The dining room is newly refurbished in austrian style and has a lovely, cosy atmosphere. It opens out onto a terrace and although this faces the road, again we found it a lovely place to eat in the evening and to have breakfast. Breakfast was great - all the usual that you would expect - fresh juice, coffee, fresh breads, hams, cheeses, jams, cakes, cereals, yoghurts etc etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lastly, we found the position of the Weidenhof, close to the lake, just outside Klagenfurt (a 10 minute drive to the centre or five minutes to the 'Park and Ride' and 15 minutes from the airport) very convenient. This was our first visit to Klagenfurt and Wörthersee and it is such a beautiful area, we hope to return soon. We would happily stay at the Weidenhof again, but then, having seen so many really stunning hotels in amazing locations around the lake and up in the mountains, depending on price, we may stay further out of Klagenfurt next time. PS: We had a hire car - definitely a plus if your are to enjoy this area to the full. I couldn't comment on how easy/difficult it would be to get around if you are depending on public transport.
