We stayed here for 4 nights and weren't disappointed. As the hotel has been run for generations the room fit the period, was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfasts were excellent and food and drinks at dinner were delicious! I regularly stay in hotels, all over the world. Many are cold empty places, hiding behind a vaneer of artificial bonhomie & expensive interior design. The Doktorwirt is the genuine article. a warm, friendly place. When in Salzburg, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
