This is a historic inn, once the headquarters of famed Austrian patriot Andreas Hofer, on the road to Brenner Pass, just 3 miles south of Innsbruck (actually within the city limits of Mutters). The inn is originally from the 16th century. Hofer was here in the late 1700s to 1810, and he fought against Napolean, to his ultimate demise. (Upon... More

After a long trip we arrived at the hotel, which we had reserved weeks ahead. To our surprise, the owner had not booked our reservation, what he acknowledged. We had reserved three separate rooms for 6 people, each of them with private bathroom. Instead, he only had available one room for two and another one with one bathroom for four... More

We stayed at may 2013, Awesome food, staff is excellent, room is large enough and very clean. One bad thing is public tansport. Bus lines is rare, every hour to town and back but this is bus company problem. Overall excellent stay

We chose to book this guesthouse because of its proximity to Innsbruck without being in the city traffic, but, if we were to do this again, we'd probably choose to stay in Hall, on the other side of Innsbruck, which was quaint and uncrowded. The guesthouse was more than adequate with a clean, comfortable room and substantial breakfast. We ate... More

A nice experience just outside Innsbruck. We stayed here for one night on the way home from Italy. The food was good and staff was helpful! The ambience was nice and Austrian and the wifi was easily accesible. The hotel was like a maze though, had to run up and down different stairs to get to our room on the... More

We book our stay for 3 nights at the Gasthof Zum Schupfen. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was quite helpful in our requests. I remind you this is a "Guesthouse". Meaning they have a bar and restaurant open for the public too. The Gasthof Zum Schupfen is located outside Innsbruck (6 to 7 KM). Don't panic! You can... More

This is a great little hotel! It's only about a 5 minute drive into Innsbruck, so it's conveniently close yet removed from the hustle & bustle of the town. We loved waking up to look at the sun shining on the Alps too! The breakfast was full & delicious - typical German/European fare. The staff was very friendly and helpful.... More

We stayed here for one night travelling as we were travelling back to Italy. We found the room very comfortable, warm and clean and the free wifi was very handy. Yves and his mother were extremely welcoming, telling us the history of the hotel and giving us advice about local restuarants (the hotel restaurant was closed when we were there).... More

This historic gem is a little outside the city, yes, but if you're a hiker, runner, or biker, you're close to Mutters. There is access to miles of trails leading up and around the Alps...where the locals go. Gorgeous! If you want to go into the city, the bus is literally across the road. We found the rooms to be...
