We have recently spent a most enjoyable week in Kitzbuhel staying in the Chalet Karlberger with Crystal holidays. The main purpose of the holiday was skiing and the chalet is ideally placed for quick access to the gondolas and slopes. The chalet staff were all excellent and food fabulous with a plentiful supply of wine in the evening. The hot... More

Having read through quite a few other reviews I think I should state the two obvious points about the Karlberger Chalet as run by Crystal... First, the location of the building for skiers (i.e. proximity to the Hahnenkamm Bahn gondola) is superb!... the chalet is about 100m (uphill) from the lift. The chalet is also at the very end of... While the chalet itself is positioned amazingly well - right by the lift - the service was sadly somewhat lacklustre. The chalet lacked glasses, cups, and often basics such as butter. the food was mediocre at best, cold and delayed at worst. The staff were over-worked to the point of not really having time to re-fil wine etc etc. While... More

The building is old and not really in the good way.. it could really do with an redo of its interior. The Crystal staff were rather patronising and there was a strong feeling that we were on a school trip. But I am not used to package holidays and object to being told what to do. We got a very... The chalet is in a great location - a stone's throw from the main Hahnenkammbahn lift and it's possible to ski back to the chalet, although the run was closed while we were there. We took the 21 back and then walked across the road to the chalet. Although it's a red, it's got a few hairpin bends and steep... More

Excellent location right at the bottom of the slopes. Ski to the door via Blue 20 (closed whilst we were there but apparently more like a red run) and Red 21 (good run but some hairpin bends and steep elements so may not be suitable for beginners). Alternatively 2 mins walk from gondola. Also 2 mins walk from ski hire... More

I arranged for a group of 25 people aged between from 3 to late 50's to stay at the Karlberger for my partners 40th. I was a bit apprehensive to say the least as I had read mixed reviews and many of our friends had not done a wintersports holiday before. However, when we got there my worries soon disappeared.... Use your brain & do your research ~ Kitzbuhel is a premium resort so don't expect Ritz facilities when you're paying Happy Shopper prices! Chalet Karlberger is ideal for those whose priority is skiing but whose accommodation needs rank lower down their list. The LOCATION is SUPERB! The Hahnenkamm cable car is less than 100m from the chalet door. Those... More

Just returned from Chalet Karlberger. We stayed in the quad room or apartment as Crystal call it, wasn't that impressed, it was a bit shabby and in need of an upgrade but fairly clean, could have been better. Staff were very friendly, very young team but run the chalet like clockwork.. Crystal do say you can ski to the chalet... More

We stayed two nights in the summer, a family with 2 children. We had a room with four beds and then there was no more space. The bathroom was very small, but clean. The staff (or maybe it was the owner) was very friendly and helpfull. The location was the best thing about this place if you are going up... More
