InterCity hotel is very good choice. Perfect location on main shopping street, directly on undergraund and Westbanhof, and at walking distance to the historical centre. Anyway, free ticket for public transport is always included in room price (you will get it at the desk during check in).

Nice clean hotel with great location as to shopping and underground. Rooms nice and comfy although not 4 star rating. We didn't eat in the hotel but had ours out side plenty cafe to choose from. All in all good value for money.

I've stayed at several Intercitys, they're all centrally located as this one is a few short steps from the Westbahnhof and Wien's great subway to downtown. It is located at Westbanhof, at Mariahilfer strasse, therefore has an excellent location. Which is also good that they give free public transport ticket for your stay.
