POSITIVE ASPECTS: The hotel is ideally located just at the corner of the fish market, and less than 2 minutes by walking of the Bryggen neighbourhood protected by UNESCO, and or the city center. If you want, you have the possibility to book a room for 4 or 6, which is quite cool if you don't plan to spend a... More

It's quite a good place, clean and recently refurbished rooms. It's located just nearby the fish market and that's a really good thing. The cost is an average for Norway and it offers to its visitors a living room, and a kitchen. There's wifi and a code to access on night time. Polite people at reception. Good place to stay!

1. YMCA is right in the centre, 20m walk from flybus & tourist office, fish market, 2. it has small kitchen, lounge room, dining room, 3. it has a elevator, lift, 4. staff are helpful ( if you persist and explain clearly) they do know English, 5. note short winter reception hours, 6. bunpriss supermarket opposite, 7. rooms clean tidy, 8... LIke everyone else mentioned the location is great. However, if you want your body feel like its been broken this is the place to stay in! Their beds are really horrible! they mattresses are too thin so you feel every single metal bar. The staff is really unfriendly and actually did not tell us much. They actually forgot to mentioned... There's not a lot wrong with the Bergen YMCA hostel, but there's not a great deal going for it. First the positives: - my room was clean - the location is great (a stone's throw from the fish market) - free tea, free coffee But... - the place has zero atmosphere - the staff weren't particularly helpful or friendly...everything I... Since it is a hostel please don't expect anything great. The only positive thing about this place is that the location is great, right in the city center. Other then that everything else was OK, but I personally didn't find the staff very helpful/friendly (by staff i mean the only person that was at the reception when i checked in)... More

I slept in a 30+ bed dorm, and had expected it to be noisy. But it was nice and quiet, very clean, showers were ok. The common area is supercool, although WiFi has its ups and downs... the kitchen's great and the staff are all right. You can'tbeat the location.

Stayed for 1 night in their biggest dorm with 32 bunk beds as all other rooms were booked out and paid the same amount as what we'd paid for Boutique Hotels in cities like Budapest or Prague. Nevertheless good value for Bergen - can't beat the location. Free parking on weekends 100m up the road, free wifi, comfy beds, linen... More

We were two families of 3 adults and 5 children who stayed one night in two four-bed rooms. The rooms were nice and clean and we especially loved the roof terrace which had an amazing view! The standard was good for a hostel but quite expensive even by Norwegian standards! The location was great, within walking distance of everything in... More

Bergen YMCA is perfectly central. It is only a few minutes away from the central station and the fish market is practically next door, only a few steps will lead you there. This means you can get very fast to Bryggen and to the funicular, to countless restaurants and shops. The rooms are just okay, nothing special, but there is... More
