Our room was disgusting. Ketchup on the wall and carpet. Stains all over the carpet. Sheets so thin we could see the mattress, no mattress protector. The entire corridor smelled like a toilet. The hotel was full, there were rooms of lads on big nights out. No problem with that but they had their doors open, constantly moving from room... More

I first stayed here in July 2011 and gave it a slating review which was justly deserved. Before the stay I'd already booked for October 2011 and really wished I hadn't. Anyway, as I'd got the saver rooms and prepaid I decided I would stay. Before arriving I telephoned the Travelodge to ask them if they could allocate me a... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night in November 2012. It was a good, online deal - the hotel costed just 12 GBP. For that little money it was a very decent choice - clean rooms, complimentary coffe and tea. WiFi was available, but for quite high charge. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. Good location, close to the... More

Stayed here for two nights in October. We didn't have any issues with the cleanliness or staff. The hotel was handy for the town centre. However there is a bar on the ground floor of the building which totally ruined our trip due to the noise both nights.

Firstly I stay in travelodge hotels every week, so know what to usually expect. -Basic but clean and functional, which is all you are paying for. Whilst this place is reasonably new, it certainly has had a hard life! It is disgraceful. I made the mistake of my family come with me on a trip and we had to leave... More

I was expecting the room to be ok as it's a fairly new hotel, but obviously has had a lot of workmen staying there due to the amount of filthy hand prints on the walls. The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable and offered no support for a couple. The bathroom walls were stained. The bathroom bin was rusty. Cigarette burn... More

I dont know what all the fuss is about..the place is not filthy..basic YES, Cheap YES, and as other reviews mention "you do get what you pay for". Incidentally Wakefield is undergoing a massive regeneration project and the building works mentioned on the travelodge website and elsewhere on here are pretty much completed ( a brand spanking new shopping centre!)....
