Excellent and amusing host who was very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, warm and with a brilliant shower. Then breakfast topped off the stay with homemade muesli and bread on offer plus great selection of hot choices including homemade pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Next time we are in Ballater we will certainly be staying here.

Moorside House was our first stop on our recent Highlands tour and it was perfect. Pieter gave us a great recommendation for dinner (Deeside Hotel) and was a delight in every way. Great breakfast, great beds, beautiful house and a perfect location for exploring the area! Highly recommended!

For the past six years we have stayed here and would not consider staying anywhere else in the area. This is the best and most professionally run establishment you could hope for. The room was in fair condition and the deco was a bit dowdy. We were slightly turned off by the many instructional signs in the room. WIFI only worked in the lounge not inside our room. I would have given this place 3 stars but I am adding one more just for the breakfast. The muesli was to die for.... More
