The Earlsmere is a beautiful period property run by charming hosts in an ideal location for functions at The Spa. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and very clean. The Yorkshire breakfast was lovely and Richard makes the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted. Having been in hospital just prior to our holiday I was so grateful to... More

We contacted the Earlsmere based on its Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Lovely, period property run by a very friendly and enthusiastic host. We are so pleased that Richard was able to put us up for a one-night only stay on a Saturday. Slept well in a comfy bed and the full Yorkshire breakfast set us up well... More

My husband and I have just returned from our latest fix of The Earlsmere, and it just gets better and better. Since our last stay Richard and Jarlath have been busy renovating and decorating and the whole place looks fab. We had room number 6 this time. It is really tastefully decorated with everything you would want for a comfortable... More

Stayed at the Earlsmere with friends whilst on a cycling tour. Warm welcome - no list of rules. Secure bike storage outside in yard. Assistance with booking taxi and good table at restaurant. We were in room 2 and our friends in room 6. Both rooms were beautifully decorated. Our room had a large bathroom with bath and shower and... More

We called in to see if rooms were available and managed to grab the last room. Excellent room overlooking greenery, a fantastic size with a double and single bed, plenty of room for little ones to play and two chairs in front of flat screen tv. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate in room, with fresh milk and water available in a... More

A group of have been visiting Scarborough for a Rotary Conference. We booked to stay at the Earlsmere and were delighted with everything. Richard and Jarlath could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It is comfortable, warm and attractive with attention given to all the details. We would very much recommend the Earlsmere to potential visitors to Scarborough.

Having stayed here for a few days in the summer to see old friends in the town, literally a couple of weeks after Richard and Jarlath took over from the previous owners, I was looking forward to a return visit to see how they were making their mark on the place. The Earlsmere is welcoming and very comfortable and R... More

We booked ages in advance of a special trip to Yorkshire so were a little taken aback when greeted by a Richard having spoken a Lynne. We need not have been concerned as this change of ownership seems to have nothing to detract from the excellence of the Earlsmere. Richard and Jarlath are hosts on a mission to provide a... More

We have just returned from a great weekend staying at the Earlsmere. As with a couple of other recent contributors, we have stayed a few times before under the previous ownership and always thought it a top place. But to underline their experiences, we too give the new team a big “thumbs up”. In a matter of a few months... More
