In a wonderful part of Yorkshire, and with a vintage Inn right next to it, the Lodge was no more or less than I expected. A surprisingly spacious room, with lots of extras, the option to open a window for fresh air was incredibly good ! The Inns food was superb, I tried the steak option one night and was... More

I have been going to the Foxglove for a number of years now, and in the last couple of years the standards appear to change dramatically from one trip to the next. We visited on Mothers' Day 2011 and it was lovely, our party of 6 really enjoyed it. Visiting again on Father's Day, it was terrible and we all... More

The Foxglove is in a lovely setting. The actual vintage inn is wonderfully homely with a huge traditional log burning fireplace and the sort of rustic, olde English aesthetic you'd expect from a place like this. This aspect is superb - I really enjoy the ambience of the place when its cold outside and the fire is burning. This is... More

Have just returned from Sunday lunch at the Foxglove. We had booked a table so were looking forward to a relaxing meal. However, on arrival, it was noticed that our table(which had been clearly reserved with our name and time) had been 'acquired by a group of 3 very rude people. When challenged by the manager, they 'alleged' that they... More

Visited here midweek for evening meal, we had a party of seven including small child. The restaurant is quite large and spacious and has little areas near open fires which is great on these frequent cold nights. Menu is varied and they also had a offer on steak and wine. The kids menu I liked as offered mini rump steak,... More

We needed to stay over night in the Huddersfield area. Found the Foxglove had excellent deals for both accommodation and food and drink. We were not disappointed, received a very warm welcome, staff were excellent. Keeping in perspective this is not a 5* hotel the room was spacious and very clean. We used the restaurant which was very busy, menu... More

Stayed here several times and always experience a good standard of room accommodation. Customer service from restaurant staff is always friendly and helpful and there is plenty of choice on the menu at reasonable prices. The free continental style breakfast provided has plenty of choice of cereals, toast, and pastries, etc available. Overall, good value for money. More
