Was this a great place to start a trek? Yes! We were really please to be able to start our walking trek on the northern section of Offa's Dyke Path this year at The Firs... Esther and David were very accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed the location, the breakfast, and a good night's rest before heading on! More

We had a family get together this weekend at the Firs taking in 5 rooms, just like previous reviews we found Esther & David excellent hosts. They are a really friendly couple & made us all welcome from the minute we arrived, the rooms for all of us were brilliant, not one member of the family could find fault. The... More

Esther and David were lovely hosts who made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. As soon as we mentioned we needed a taxi, they organised it for us. I had expected that they would just give us a number so was delighted. They recommended good local hostelries for our evening meal and they were on the ball with... More

We visisted Mr and Mrs Davies for a weeknend. We stayed at the firs while we attended a near by wedding. This is a family run business with a homely atmosphere. parking on site was ample. They were very accomodating with my dietry requirments as we have stayed in places before that did not appriciate my limited diet. They made... More

David and Esther have been very nice and helpful, the place is calm, clean, sorrounded by a very nice garden. The breakast is filling and tasty, and we even tried a home-baked bara brith. If we go back to Hay (a lovely place not only for book worms), we'll definitely go back to the Firs. More

Myself and my partner resided at the Firs for a weekend break. We found the firs to be ideally situated to the local town centre, country walks and places of literacy interest. The B&B itself provided a homely environment and the owners of the establishement David and Esther were extremely friendly, helpful and informative and could not do enough for... More

Accomodation right in the heart of Hay-On-Wye. It is far enough off the main road to be away from traffic. The walk to the town centre only takes 3 minutes. The rooms themselves are adequate. Comfortable beds, small portable TV in each room with a digital receiver. The showers are hot and powerful. However on the downside, the watertank is... More
