We stayed for one night in our campervan, having seen the sign for a campsite from the main road. Really glad we did. A low-key and relaxed place to camp with lovely clean loos and showers. No hassles or daft rules and regs and in a lovely, quiet spot too. We'll definately stop here next time we're in the area.... More

Just spent a great Aug Bank Holiday (2011) touring central Wales on our motorbikes. We made a last minute booking with Mike and Sharon at Outdoors@Hay, on arrival Mike greeted us like we were old friends and made us very welcome. The Café being run by his daughter was a godsend after a long trip and you just can’t beat... More

This place is everything you would want for a quiet camping trip. I was alone when i visited with my motorbike and solo ridge tent, there were , I think, four other family groups there with plenty of space between the tents - dont you hate it when someone pitches right next to you !! showers were good and hot,... Just back from an excellent stay at outdoors@hay. We hired a bell tent which I feel was very reasonably priced because they provided everything that we needed for an enjoyable stay.. The girls also enjoyed all the activities that they did with Mike; he doesn’t just teach he made it fun and exciting for them. They can’t stop talking about... More

We stayed here after a disaster at Hollybush Camping down the road. Mick and his wife were very welcoming even though we hadn't booked and there were 12 of us. The showers and toilets were spotless and were kept clean throughout the weekend and there was a washing up area with cloths and detergent to use. They had a fire... More

We stayed here as a group of 12 - the owners are super friendly and the site is clean and tidy. The toilets and showers are kept clean and have music playing in them! We had an area in one of the fields to ourselves and the owners even set us up a fire pit! Great little site - would... More

Just come back from a fabulous weekend at Outdoors@hay. Mick and Sharon were fantastic hosts and were extremely helpful in organising our group stay. (28 adults 15 kids). Mick cooked a suckling pig for us Polynesian style buried in a fire pit. We also took a party of 21 down the river Wye in canoes. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed... More

We stayed at Outdoors at Hay in April 2011 with friends and family. The camp site is extremely well run, neat and tidy with very nice showers and toilet block (I think at least 6 of each) with free piped music! There are 2 fields situated in the heart of the most beautiful scenery, close to Hay on Wye. On... More

We stayed 4 nights in the smaller of their 2 permanently set up tipis. Great fun, really nice people on site, and for the duration of the Hay festival they run an excellent on site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Hot dinner was superb food and excellent value and very friendly indeed. I dont know what it's like the rest... More
