We stayed one night, and sad to say would not stay again. There were positives- the view was lovely, the bed was newish and comfy so we slept well. The staff seemed friendly but were very busy with the pub next door. The Lodge needs a real makeover and the breakfast was unappetising. With the great location, if an investment was... More

Booked for three nights in early October 2011 with friends. Our expectations of a lovely break in accommodation on the banks of the River Wye were immediately dashed by the lack of any warmth in the welcome from our hosts in the pub where we had to check in, and the realisation that our accommodation was likely to be as... The location is excellent for the Wye Valley being in the center. Hosts are a very nice couple and the breakfast was very good. We had an evening meal on one night and that was very good also. Just a little disappointed with the housekeeping which was alas non existent. We were only there for three nights but apart from... More

Thought we had booked accommodation within the pub (The Hope & Anchor) when we paid our non refundable deposit, but we were allocated rooms at Wye Lodge close to the pub. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom however was disgusting. The toilet did not flush properly, it had a broken seat. The whole room was dirty, mouldy and... More

Parking free for a start which is always a nice bonus, you just leave it in the pubs carpark.Check in at the pub where the friendly staff handed over the keys 2 hours before the official time which again is always nice. She then led us 50 yards up the road to the adjoining lodges which is basically a house split up... We stayed at Wye Lodge last year and after having a great stay with a warm and friendly welcome we decided to go back. The rooms have all been decorated new tele's and soft furnishings. The welcome was still fantastic and have booked to go back again in Sept

I had lived in Ross-On-Wye for a few years and after leaving to London to work I believed a trip back to my previous home would be most fitting. I was told to stay as close to the river as was possible and the best looking place was the Hope and Anchor pub. While it will win no awards for... More

Saw the positive reviews on here and expected somewhere basic but clean. Instead was greeted by grotty damp smelling carpets, marked walls with chipped paint, faded old pictures and cobwebs in the bathroom. The wonderful picture window looking over the river had a cracked pane of glass and the window has actually been sealed shut! Light pulls in bathroom =... More

We wanted somewhere close to the town of Ross to stay and friends of ours (who are local) suggest we try this place and we are pleased they did. Not only are the rates great but the accommodation, service and location are too. Being a stones throw from the river and a childrens park there was always something for the... More

The welcome was warm and friendly when we arrived for our break. We was shown to our room which was in a seperate building from the main pub and was pleased to find it warm clean and very comfertable. We enjoyed a couple of very pleasant evenings sitting in the private gardens attached to the rooms. Will hgo back next... More
