we have just returned, we really enjoyed our stay there, room (number 9) was great, comfy, the road noise was a little noisy but we did pick the hottest weekend of the year so far, did have the window open all night. we checked in no problem put our bags down and went down to the bar, booked a table... My business partner and I took a well deserved day out being that we work in the pub industry and also have a day job. We stopped for lunch thinking we could admire the view on a rainy afternoon. We ordered lunch from the menu but as we wanted a light lunch we decided to order two starters each and... More

Excellent overnight stay. Staff very friendly, accommodating and efficient. Food was good - both dinner and breakfast. Room was small but comfortable, en suite v good & equipped with all you'd need - all you'd want for a relaxing night. Only problem was one bedroom window would not shut so a bit draughty in one part of the room (number... More

We arrived late on Sunday for lunch and the restaurant was very quiet. The decor is very dated but the young staff are really friendly and welcoming, and the car very lunch we had was absolutely terrific. Lots of roast beef, with nicely cooked yorkshires, scrummy roasties , lots of veg and "proper" gravy. It was fab! And with drinks,... More

My husband an I enjoyed a lovely stay here with our dog on 4th April 2012. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, making us feel really welcomed; they doted on our dog, Rosco, which was great to be able to take him everywhere with us. The room was very nice - spacious, clean and comfortable. There was... More

My son and I stayed at this hotel with other members of our family as we were at a family funeral in the area. We had 2 rooms in the chalets which were very quiet and I had a very good nights sleep. The bed had definitely seen better days and the carpet was a bit grotty, my sons room... More

We have just had a night here, wonderful, comfortable accommodation at a good price. Fantastic location and a friendly welcome for us and our 5 month old puppy. Welcoming cheerful staff, good beer and wine, will definitely stay again.

Lovely location, very quiet Saturday lunchtime, till we went in (14 of us) but staff helpful and did a great job in providing main meals for us all despite not booking. Menu was varied and all the standard favourites were there. Food was well presented, hot and tasty. No complaints from us. It was also set up beautifully ready for... More

Mediocre pub food, with "homemade" chips. Cheerful service but understaffed - only one person to cover lunchtime bar and food.
