The b&b was noisy with little sound proofing throughout the building. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The main problem was that the fire doors creak shut slowly and loudly and wake up the whole house at all times of the night, 12, 2am, 4am, 4.40am. ended up at brekkness at last minute as another hotel in kirkwall was too dirty to stay in. the brekkness however was very clean indeed, and i would recomend this B and B to anyone, very friendly too.

This guest house was fine for staying in Kirkwall. If visiting Orkney by ferry without your own car you will probably be needing to stop here for at least one night as the ferries usually dock late. The gust house was very accommodating with this. However Kirkwall is not very pretty and I would strongly reccomend Stromness over it as... More
