We stayed here for just one night and appreciated the history, atmosphere and beauty of the surroundings. Our room was large and comfortable but the towels and linen are showing a bit of wear. We enjoyed dinner in the dining room, but were a little intimidated by the austere manner of the head waiter and I think it would have... More

This is a lovely hotel situated just off the main road in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. Looking at the price list, don't be fooled by thinking that this isn't worth it. It is worth every penny. We stayed this time in the Yellow Parlour which was stunning. Anytime we've stayed here it's been amazing and this was no exception. All the... More

We were married here two weeks ago. Shona and the team were all fantastic. The planning was easy, and nothing a problem, even down to some unusual requests from us. The day went like a dream, all our guests were happy. The staff were attentive and professional but never too present. It was like the place was our own for... More

We spent 2 nights at the Roman Camp in early March. I was pleased to see that standards were still as high as on our previous visit 3 years ago. We stayed in the Lady Esher room which was lovely. There was a roaring log fire in the reception area and likewise the restaurant and drawing room, which was really... More

We spent 2 nights at the Roman camp and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If you're looking for a place steeped in history then this place will not disappoint. On the second night we dined there and were delighted by the experience. We opted for the tasting menu and lapped up everything put in front of us. Staying here is bit... More

We were treated by friends to a meal at the Roman Camp to celebrate our engagement. I was looking forward with high expectations as our friends had had their wedding here and had a ball. The hotel is a 17th century building and as soon as you enter you are transported back in time. Roaring log fires in all the... More

I am surprised that I have never written a review of the restaurant at the Roman Camp Hotel as it is one of our favourites and a place where we have taken family and friends to celebrate special occasions it combines the best of cosy Scottish hospitality with fine dining. The Roman Camp Hotel is literally a hidden gem tucked... More
