Went here for dinner, did not try the accommodation. Food here is incredible. The Angus steak and venison were truly amongst the best I've tasted, and the steamed pineapple pudding was a lovely surprise, though little room had been left by an extremely well cooked main. return! More

We stayed in poppies or two nights, we found that the rooms were adequate, but certainly not the best. Regarding the adverisement we expected the rooms to be nicer and a bigger tv. The bathroom was below average and the shower should have been designed with a glassdoor, not a curtain. The bar was very nice and prices for drinks... More

Very disappointed after reading good reviews. Didn't get one of the nice rooms shown on web site. Very small bathroom with claustrophobic shower. Cobwebs on window and old pot pourri. Just enjoyed a dinner bed and breakfast break here in The Poppies. It is a gorgeous hotel full of character with a friendly welcome from the owners. First night on the road after leaving Edinburgh - this is a super location on the main road, but very nice and not noisy.
